We are currently seeking an exceptional Business Development Senior Manager. August Bio has made significant investments in the business to expand our current capabilities, build a new state-of-the-art commercial manufacturing facility, and add multiple filling lines and enabling technologies. We are in the process of adding critical headcount to support our high growth plan. The Business Development Senior Manager  will report to the Director of Business Development and will be responsible for achieving the sales objectives in their territory. Responsibilities include managing sales territory, identifying new opportunities, acquiring new business, and managing customer data in the Customer Relations Management (CRM) system. Key responsibility will be obtaining new customers to drive revenue targets.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for achieving quarterly sales plan objectives, by closing new opportunities
  • Demonstrate exemplary skills and proficiency in communication, selling, closing, objection handling, and account/relationship management
  • Generate new leads, contact decision-makers, and screen and qualify potential new business opportunities
  • Identify and target new potential product opportunities and develop relationships with pharma and biotech decisions makers seeking CDMO services
  • Present August Bio capabilities presentations to prospective clients. Strong presentation skills are required as this role communicates and connects with all levels within our customers’ organization. By providing the credibility necessary to influence sales and customer decisions.
  • Manage customer data in the CRM system and database, maintains and records all relevant activities.
  • Drive funnel acceleration to achieve sales objectives
  • Coordinate new project opportunities with proposal development team and present proposals to customers
  • Coordinate execution of Confidentiality Disclosure Agreements (CDAs)
  • Attend and actively participate in industry tradeshows, conferences, networking events, and client on-site and off-site meetings
  • Attend and actively participate in Commercial Development team and Senior Leadership meetings as required
  • Identify and engage with new prospective clients using sources such as databases, publications, market analysis, trade shows and contacts.
  • Coordinate initial client contact and customer visits

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related disciplines (Life Sciences, Business Management, Engineering)
  • Minimum of 5 years’ business development experience in CDMO industry with sterile fill/finish sales experience
  • Minimum of 2 years' exposure to the drug product manufacturing industry
  • Proven track record of identifying, developing, and closing new opportunities
  • Understanding of how the injectable CDMO industry works and both sides of the CDMO service equation, i.e., from a customer’s perspective – key decision drivers and considerations as well as from the perspective of the CDMO provider
  • An understanding of cGMP manufacturing requirements as well as regulatory and environmental issues relevant for the pharmaceutical industry
  • Process-driven, solutions-focused, and results-oriented, maintaining a sense of urgency while driving outcomes efficiently and effectively
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, energetic personality, and accountable in accomplishing the objectives of the business
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate with all levels of our customers’ organizations as well as internally at all levels of August Bio
  • Strong relationship building skills across disciplines (technical, commercial, operational, and middle- and senior management)
  • Demonstrated success in fast-moving, multiple project environment
  • A high level of “can do” creativity, determination, and personal motivation
  • Ability to travel 50% and visit the Nashville site once a quarter an as company requires.
