About the role:

We are looking for our CPA, a senior leader for our tax practice. This is a client-facing, advisory role with real ownership: you'll sign off on complex partnership returns, advise sponsors on structuring and transactions, lead a team of reviewers and preparers (onshore and offshore), and help take our services to market. The right person is an experienced tax manager ready to step up, or a new senior tax manager who wants more room to build.

This is a highly visible, client-facing leadership role with real ownership. You'll sign off on complex partnership returns, advise sponsors on structuring and transactions, lead a team of reviewers and preparers across onshore and offshore functions, and play a meaningful role in how we design, price, and bring our services to market.

What are we looking for
  • Own final professional sign-off on partnership returns for real estate sponsors, funds, family offices, and operating entities.
  • Advise clients on entity structuring, transactions, distributions, and inbound investor matters - including foreign investor structures (Blocker / REIT / treaty considerations).
  • Serve as the senior point of contact on key accounts; lead kickoffs, planning conversations, and year-end tax strategy sessions.
  • Build trusted relationships with clients and manage engagements from initial planning through final delivery.
  • Lead and develop a team of experienced reviewers and preparers, and coordinate effectively with offshore prep teams.
  • Partner with leadership on service design, pricing, and go-to-market strategy for our tax offerings, contributing to the continued growth and evolution of our tax practice by helping define processes, standards, and best practices.
Requirements
  • 7–10+ years in public accounting with a clear track record managing partnership tax engagements.
  • Active CPA license (or EA registration).
  • Deep partnership tax experience with a real estate focus, including sponsors, funds, JVs, syndications, and family offices.
  • Experience with foreign investors and offshore investment structures, including Blocker, REIT, and treaty considerations.
  • Hands-on experience with partnership tax software (e.g., CCH Axcess, ProSystem fx, GoSystem, or Drake).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to confidently advise a sponsor's CFO while also explaining complex tax concepts to less experienced investors.
  • Strong judgment, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.

Nice-to-Have

  • Comfort with tech-driven, AI-assisted tax workflows and genuine curiosity about where the industry is going.
  • Experience coordinating with offshore or outsourced prep teams.
  • CCH Axcess experience specifically.
  • Familiarity with 1031 exchanges, cost segregation, and other real-estate-specific tax matters.
  • Multi-state filing exposure (especially NY, CA, TX, and FL).
  • Experience managing a book of business and leading client relationships from kickoff through year-end.
  • Experience building, mentoring, and managing teams of preparers and reviewers.
  • Professional working proficiency in Hebrew is an advantage.

Benefits

At Agora, you'll enjoy a comprehensive benefits package that includes:

  • Health insurance
  • Flexible hybrid work environment
  • Unlimited paid time off
  • Stock options
  • Commuter benefits
  • Fun team events and company gatherings
  • Meaningful opportunities for personal and professional career growth.

We're looking for people who think big, take ownership, embrace innovation, and treat others with kindness and respect while building something exceptional together.

Compensation: $170,000 - $200,000 USD exact pay is based on candidate's unique combination of experience and skills.
