The Director of Channel Sales will lead Copper’s business of selling its award-winning appliances through contractors, solar installers, architects, designers, and electrification professionals.  These sales partnerships have proven a highly effective way to reach more customers and expand business quickly, and we’re just getting started.

The Director of Channel Sales will work directly with these partners, as well as create the systems to then rapidly build this network.This is an opportunity to take ownership of an entire sales function from the ground up and chart the company's growth trajectory.

This is a full-time position expected to be in-office 4 days per week with 1 day flexible for in-office or remote work, with domestic and international travel as needed. Our office is located in Berkeley, CA.

What You'll Do

  • Create the strategies for working with each category of channel sales partners.
  • Design scalable system for recruiting and supporting channel partners.
  • Build a pipeline of potential partners.
  • Reach and recruit channel partners.
  • Support partners to ensure they are successfully selling through Copper appliances.
  • With success, bring in additional members of the team to help recruit and support new channel partners.

What You'll Bring

  • Proven track record in selling to people in the trades.
  • Experience introducing a new product to the market. 
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to leverage data to source leads and make sales.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication, especially simplifying complex topics.
  • Proven negotiation skills.
  • Experience with interior design, solar, HVAC, or home electrification products is a plus.
  • Deft social skills to quickly establish new relationships with durable trust.

Compensation

The base salary range for this role is $160k-185k per year, with significant additional performance-based compensation. We are committed to equitable compensation, and offer a generous benefits package to make sure you have the support you need. We cover 100% of the premiums for our employees and 50% of the premiums for their dependents on our base plans for medical, dental, and vision insurance. We offer a 401(k) plan for employees to contribute to, in addition to many other benefits. Every employee, regardless of gender identity or expression, is eligible for 16 weeks of paid parental leave after three months of employment (eight weeks through Copper and eight weeks CA Paid Family Leave).
