Setting Architecture Objectives and Strategies:

  • Develop and enhance existing architecture principles and blueprints based on business needs.
  • Lead the alignment of architecture principles to key IT initiatives.

Architecture Practice Development – Building and evolving the architecture capability within the organisation.

  • Establish and lead the architecture practice, including the formation of an Architecture Review Board to ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Drive business value through architectural alignment and innovation.
  • Develop and manage architecture and digital technology policies; oversee architecture risks and technology debt.
  • Identify and implement improvements in architecture capabilities, including skills, technologies, and processes.
  • Manage Digital Technology policies

Enterprise Architecture (STPL) – Developing and governing enterprise-wide architecture and roadmaps.

  • Contributes to creating and reviewing a systems capability strategy which meets the business's strategic requirements.
  • Creates and maintains roadmaps to guide the execution of business strategy and capability improvements.
  • Determines requirements and specifies effective business processes, through improvements in technology, information or data practices, organisation, roles, procedures and equipment.
  • Contributes to identifying new areas of architecture capability improvement within the organisation which may be enhancements to skills, technology or processes.

Stakeholder Relationship Management (RLMT) – Engaging with business leaders, IT teams, and external partners.

  • Identifies the communications and relationship needs of stakeholder groups.
  • Translates communications/stakeholder engagement strategies into specific activities and deliverables. Facilitates open communication and discussion between stakeholders.
  • Facilitates business decision-making processes. Captures and disseminates technical and business information.

Knowledge Management (KNOW) – Capturing and sharing architectural knowledge across the organisation.

  • Organises architecture knowledge assets and oversees the lifecycle of identifying, capturing, classifying, storing and maintaining architecture artifacts.
  • Facilitates sharing, collaboration and communication of knowledge. Implements specific knowledge management initiatives.
  • Monitors the use and impact of knowledge.

Professional Development (PDSV) – Supporting growth and development of architecture team members.

  • Determines development needs for architect’s professional practice area.
  • Aligns development activities with organisational priorities, learning and development strategies and career pathways.
  • Guides architects in creating development plans. Advises and supports assigned practitioners, ensuring alignment with professional development plans and career opportunities.

Performance Management (PEMT) – Overseeing team performance and ensuring alignment with strategic goals.

  • Delegates objectives and responsibilities, including people management tasks. Sets quality, performance and capability targets aligned with organisational goals.
  • Monitors performance and working relationships and provides feedback to address individual issues. Encourages skill development in line with team and personal goals. Adjusts workload, targets and team capacity to support individual growth.
  • Actively participates in formal processes such as recruitment, reward, promotion and disciplinary procedures.

Job Requirements

Professional Qualification

  • Relevant tertiary qualification such as Bachelor or Master’s degree in Information Technology or related field.
  • Certification in Enterprise architecture such as IASA CITA-P or IASA CITA-D is a plus.
  • Proven track record of leading and managing an architecture practice, as well as managerial people management position.
  • Possess strong knowledge of IT systems, including infrastructure, cybersecurity, data platforms, CRM, ERP, and finance systems. Additionally, expertise in data analysis, budgeting, and business operations is essential.
  • Ability to prioritize and focus on the most important issues, manage relationships and expectations of stakeholders, and achieve business outcomes is crucial.
  • Good change management skills and be able to initiate and manage change effectively.
  • Manage the entire spectrum of information technology operations, data protection, and cybersecurity risks, and have up-to-date knowledge of new or emerging technology.
  • Motivate teams to produce quality delivery within tight timeframes and multi-task.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, including effective presentation skills, are essential.
  • Strong influencing style with high credibility, integrity, a strong level of EQ, and a willingness to seek assistance and support when necessary. They should be self-motivated, independent, cooperative, flexible, and creative.
  • Willing to work on a flexible schedule and travel. Experience in the automotive and consulting industry is a plus.
  • Based in Ara Damansara, Selangor, Malaysia.
