We are seeking an experienced Systems or Product Engineer to join our team as a Functional Chief for Electromechanical Dynamics and Control. As a Chief Engineer, you will be responsible for driving technical excellence, ensuring state-of-the-art product development methods and associated process development adherence and training. In this role, technical vision and collaboration with cross-functional teams, including other Honeywell Aero Strategic Business Units, will be essential to your success.
You will report directly to our Sr. Director of Engineering, Assure within the Control Systems (CS) Strategic Business Unit (SBU) and work out of our Tempe, Arizona location on a hybrid work schedule.
 

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
•   Develop, Own and Maintain product and process design guidelines for electromechanical systems within the motion controls portfolio, including within AEP/Stages as appropriate.
•   Develop and maintain analytical methods, modeling process and architecture for dynamics and control including sizing methods, actuator dynamic analysis, motor design and motor controller drives including electromagnetic compatibility.
•   Jointly chair dynamic performance and control portions of product design reviews with chief engineers from the Product Integrity Organization.
•   Support program execution within your area of technical responsibility, including conducting Root Cause and Corrective Action investigations for dynamics and control related issues.
•   Contribute to development of Motion Control Systems organizational capability by executing process improvement initiatives and mentoring the workforce.
 

Qualifications

US PERSON REQUIREMENT

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization.

YOU MUST HAVE
•   Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field.  Master’s degree or PhD is preferred.
•   Minimum of 12 years of experience in a technical engineering or related role.
WE VALUE
•   Prior experience with Electromechanical dynamic modeling and control design and development using MATLAB/Simulink, Model Based Systems Engineering or similar/alternative methods. 
•   Technical knowledge in the areas of actuation systems, motor drives, electro-mechanical design and compatibility.
•   Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to work effectively with cross functional teams and across all levels of the organization
•   Knowledge of aerospace development process and industry standards (ARP4754, DO-254, DO-178)
•   Excellent problem-solving and decision making ability and capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
PAY

The annual base salary range for this position in the state of California is  <$212,000- $265,000>. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.
 

 This position is incentive plan eligible.
