Lead company financial strategy, planning, forecasting, fundraising, and investor relations. Build scalable finance organization, governance, and models for pricing, margins, infrastructure economics, and public-market readiness.
The summary above was generated by AI

Emergent builds autonomous coding agents that replace traditional software development by generating, testing, and deploying production applications directly from plain-language intent. Our systems run in production at global scale and are used to build millions of real applications.

Since public launch, Emergent has crossed $100M in ARR and grown to over 10M users across 190+ countries. We're backed by Khosla Ventures, SoftBank, Google, Lightspeed, Prosus, Together, and Y Combinator.

We're solving the hard part of AI-driven software creation: correctness, reliability, security, and scale in real production systems. The team is built by repeat founders, Olympiad medalists, IIT & IIM alumni, and leaders from Google, Amazon, and Dropbox.

We're hiring builders who want ownership, speed, and impact at global scale.

The Role

This is not a traditional finance role. As CFO, you will work directly with the founders and leadership team to shape company strategy, capital allocation, fundraising, operational planning, and long-term value creation. You will help build the financial and operational foundation for a company operating at exceptional scale and speed, answering some of the most important questions facing the business: how to invest capital to maximize long-term growth, how to scale from $100M ARR to billions in revenue, how AI infrastructure economics evolve over time, and what a public-company-ready operating system looks like. Also, scope of the role will be aligned as per the interview feedback and overall fitment.

What You'll Own:

  • Partner directly with the founders on company strategy and long-range planning, leading company-wide financial planning, forecasting, and resource allocation.
  • Develop frameworks for evaluating investments across product, infrastructure, growth, and enterprise, and help drive key decisions around pricing, monetization, and expansion.
  • Lead future financing activities across venture capital, growth equity, strategic capital, and debt, building relationships with investors, financial institutions, and strategic partners.
  • Partner closely with the founders on board management and investor communications, and help prepare the company for eventual public market readiness.
  • Own forecasting, KPI management, and operating reviews across the company, partnering with Product and Engineering on infrastructure investment decisions.
  • Develop frameworks around model costs, compute efficiency, gross margins, and capital efficiency.
  • Build and scale a world-class finance organization, overseeing accounting, tax, treasury, audit, compliance, and risk management.
  • Establish systems, controls, and processes capable of supporting global scale.

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience helping scale a technology company from roughly $100M revenue toward $500M+ revenue.
  • Proven success leading fundraising and investor relationships.
  • Strong background in strategic finance, capital allocation, and business operations.
  • Exceptional communication and executive presence.
  • Ability to operate effectively in fast-moving, ambiguous environments.
  • High ownership, strong judgment, and deep curiosity about technology.

Nice to Have:

  • AI, developer tools, infrastructure software, cloud, or SaaS experience.
  • Background in investment banking, growth equity, venture capital, or corporate development.
  • Experience preparing a company for IPO or large-scale liquidity events.
  • Experience working closely with founder-led organizations.

Why Join Us:

  • Help shape the strategy, economics, and long-term trajectory of a company defining a new category of software.
  • Build a generational technology company from hypergrowth to global scale.
  • Work directly with founders and leadership at the center of the shift from human-written to AI-generated software.
  • Real ownership, meaningful equity, and global impact.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Competitive salary and performance incentives
  • Meaningful equity ownership
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • 401(k)
  • Unlimited Paid Time Off: take the time you need to recharge and come back refreshed
  • Flexible Working Hours: work arrangements that fit your life and commitments

Let's build the future of software together.
