About COVU

COVU is the AI-native risk infrastructure platform transforming how insurance is distributed, managed, and embedded into customer experiences. We’ve raised over $30M, acquired multiple agencies, and are now scaling a next-generation platform that combines smart automation, human expertise, and seamless integration into the risk value chain.

We’re moving fast—and we’re looking for a Chief of Staff to operate at the center of it all.

The Role

As Chief of Staff, you’ll work directly with the CEO and COO, helping bridge customer experience, operations, and product. This role is ideal for someone who’s obsessed with optimizing customer experience and operational efficiency, and who uses data to drive execution and uncover insights. Your north star is helping our AI-native service model operate at scale with excellence, precision, and empathy.

You will serve as a high-trust operator with increasing visibility and impact—owning key cross-functional initiatives and becoming a strategic extension of our executive office. Over time, this role is intended to evolve into a senior operating role with company-wide scope.

What You’ll Do

  • Drive initiatives to improve and scale customer experience, ensuring satisfaction, retention, and operational excellence
  • Identify and solve process inefficiencies across service delivery, onboarding, and support
  • Use data, dashboards, and analysis to prioritize initiatives, improve workflows, and align operational and product roadmaps
  • Partner with the CEO and COO to ensure strategic initiatives are tracked, staffed, and executed
  • Bridge product, operations, and customer success to align efforts around customer outcomes
  • Manage internal planning cycles, meeting cadences, and cross-departmental communication
  • Prepare strategic briefings and reports for internal and external stakeholders

You Might Be a Fit If You:

  • Have 5–10 years of professional experience, ideally with time spent in high-growth startups or fast-paced operating environments
  • Are a former founder or early-stage operator who’s built systems, teams, or products from scratch
  • Have insurance experience—especially in P&C, agency operations, or insurtech (massive plus)
  • Have a strong data orientation—experience working with data engineering, analytics, or ops/product data is a big plus
  • Are deeply passionate about customer experience and process optimization
  • Thrive at the intersection of product, people, and systems
  • Are a strong communicator, project manager, and systems thinker
  • Are comfortable working closely with execs and gaining visibility across the org

The Kind of Person Who Thrives Here:

  • Builder’s DNA – You roll up your sleeves and own results
  • Fast Learner – You’re constantly absorbing and applying new concepts
  • Strategic & Tactical – You zoom in and out with ease
  • EQ + Grit – You build trust quickly, manage change gracefully, and persist through complexity

Compensation

  • Competitive salary
  • Early-stage equity package
  • Health, wellness, and growth benefits
  • Career path toward senior operating roles (COO, GM, etc.)

Location

  • California-based required (Los Angeles preferred)

Our Values at COVU

At COVU, values aren’t posters on a wall—they are the operating system of how we work. We believe the right team, aligned around a shared set of principles, can build something extraordinary. As Chief of Staff, you’ll be expected to lead and embody these values every day:

  • Trust & Impeccable Agreements — We honor our word, communicate transparently, and take accountability.
  • Entrepreneurship & Ownership — Everyone here is a builder. We take initiative and act like owners, not employees.
  • Beyond Expectations — We don’t settle for “good enough.” We aim to wow customers and teammates alike.
  • Urgency & Adaptability — We move fast, learn faster, and adapt as needed to win.
  • Customer Obsession — We exist to manage people’s risk—and that starts with empathy, feedback, and execution.

We want people who will protect and extend these values, not just align with them. If this sounds like how you already operate, you’ll thrive here.

Why This Role?

You’ll sit at the heart of COVU’s mission to blend human touch and AI at scale. If you want to optimize customer outcomes, leverage data, and streamline operations, all while growing into a senior operator—this is your launchpad.
