About Treeswift

In the face of rising threats, increasing pressure on affordability, and unprecedented demand for power, Treeswift empowers energy companies to modernize their field work to meet the growth and challenges ahead.

We build physical AI for the field worker: whether on foot or in a vehicle, our technology is an ironman suit for engineers, linemen, and vegetation crews: same worker, same boots on the ground, now operating at 10x productivity. Our platform is powered by cutting edge hardware, sensors (LiDAR, camera, etc…), AI and software designed to revolutionize work in the toughest environments.

Since our first pilot with a utility in June 2024, we've grown fast, now working with three of the five largest utilities in the US. To date, our technology has enabled our customers to reduce wildfire risk, regulatory and outage risk from vegetation, avoid delays and cost overruns in new construction, and accelerate recovery from severe storms.

To tackle this challenge, we are bringing together a team of mission-driven experts with deep industry experience in robotics (Penn, Caltech, CMU) and enterprise software development (Palantir, Stripe, Oracle, MongoDB). We have raised funding from leading investors including Penny Pritzker’s Inspired Capital.

We are headquartered in midtown Manhattan, with additional offices in San Francisco and Philadelphia.

Our growth is only accelerating. We’re looking for deeply curious and highly ambitious people who want to have a real world impact. Come build the future of (field) work with us.

The Position:

We're hiring a Chief of Staff to work directly alongside our CEO as a true extension of their judgment, network, and execution. This is not an administrative or project management role; your primary objective is to increase the leverage of the CEO as a strategic operator. That means building and managing executive relationships across the utility industry, ensuring the CEO is spending time with the right people at the right moments, and developing a deep enough understanding of Treeswift's business and strategy to help the CEO drive the company's most important priorities internally.

You'll own the operating cadence around the CEO's external relationships, proactively identifying who they should meet, orchestrating introductions, managing outreach, preparing them for conversations, and ensuring follow-up actually happens. You'll also step in to represent the CEO credibly in front of clients and partners and own high-priority strategic projects that cut across the company. Internally, you'll help the CEO turn company strategy into action, working across sales, operations, engineering, and leadership to surface issues, drive decisions, and make sure the highest-priority work moves forward. This person will often be the CEO's stand-in in external-facing conversations, and needs to build trust with technical, operational, and executive audiences alike.

This role requires someone who naturally operates with high agency. We want someone who notices what should happen next and makes it happen without waiting for direction.

If you're energized by building relationships, thrive in ambiguous environments, and want a front-row seat to building one of the world's leading physical AI companies, we'd love to talk.

What You'll Do:

Multiply the CEO's effectiveness

  • Own the CEO's external operating system, including outreach, relationship management, meeting preparation, follow-up, and long-term engagement strategy

  • Proactively identify opportunities for the CEO to deepen relationships with utility executives, board members, investors, and strategic partners

  • Build and maintain a structured pipeline of executive relationships, ensuring important conversations happen before they're needed

  • Manage the CEO's calendar strategically, optimizing for long-term company outcomes rather than simply filling available time

  • Prepare concise, thoughtful briefs before important meetings, including background, objectives, recommendations, and follow-up actions

Build executive relationships

  • Become a trusted face of Treeswift within the utility industry

  • Develop relationships with utility executives, industry leaders, advisors, and strategic partners

  • Attend conferences, customer meetings, and industry events to expand Treeswift's network and identify new opportunities

  • Coordinate executive introductions, dinners, customer visits, and relationship-building opportunities

  • Ensure no important relationship goes stale by maintaining thoughtful, consistent follow-up

Drive company operations and strategic initiatives

  • Own cross-functional strategic projects end to end that directly support the CEO and executive team

  • Coordinate board materials, fundraising preparation, strategic partnerships, and special projects

  • Run executive operating rhythms, leadership meetings, planning sessions, and company-wide initiatives

  • Identify bottlenecks before they become problems and drive them to resolution

  • Serve as the connective tissue across leadership, ensuring priorities stay aligned and execution stays on track

Communicate on behalf of the CEO

  • Draft communications on the CEO's behalf, including board updates, investor narratives, internal memos, and company-wide announcements

  • Prepare materials for board meetings, fundraising conversations, and strategic reviews

  • Serve as a connective layer between the CEO, the leadership team, and the broader company

Who You Are:

  • You genuinely enjoy meeting people and building long-term professional relationships

  • You probably already know people across the utility ecosystem, or you have a demonstrated ability to quickly build credibility in executive circles

  • You have an MBA or comparable experience in consulting, investing, strategy, or startup leadership

  • You instinctively manage up. You don't wait to be told what to do next. You anticipate what the CEO will need before they ask.

  • You're highly organized without becoming bureaucratic. You build systems that make execution easier.

  • You communicate exceptionally well, both verbally and in writing. You'll frequently write on behalf of the CEO and represent Treeswift externally.

  • You're comfortable speaking with everyone from frontline operators to Fortune 500 CEOs.

  • You have excellent judgment. You know which problems deserve the CEO's attention and which can be solved independently.

  • You can move between strategy and execution without missing a beat.

  • You have high agency: you spot what needs to happen and go do it, rather than waiting for direction

  • You're excited about physical AI, robotics, or infrastructure/utilities, and energized by the idea of learning a genuinely technical business well enough to operate credibly within it

  • You thrive in ambiguity and enjoy solving problems that don't come with a playbook.

  • You care deeply about building enduring companies and want to help define the future of AI for field workers. That means helping Treeswift become deeply embedded with utility leaders as it scales its expansion strategy.

  • You thrive in ambiguity and are comfortable with the pace and scope-shifting of an early-stage company. No two weeks in this role will look the same

What we offer:

  • Competitive salary and equity package

  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage for you and your eligible dependents

  • Life insurance and short- and long-term disability coverage

  • 16 weeks of fully paid parental leave to support all new parents

  • Flexible, unlimited paid time off

  • 401(k) retirement savings plan

  • Free OneMedical membership

  • Commuter benefits

  • Snacks, goodies, and team lunches provided twice a week to keep you fueled and connected with your colleagues.

What We Value

  • Mission first. We value team members who are focused on working towards the best outcomes for the customer and the business.

  • Curiosity. We are constantly learning – from each other and from our customers.. We aren’t afraid to learn we were wrong in the process and adapt our approach accordingly.

  • Owners mindset. If you see an opportunity for improvement, run with it. We believe that good ideas can come from anywhere, no matter your role.

The estimated base salary range for this role is $160,000 to $195,000. Final compensation is determined by skills, experience, qualifications, and location, and does not include the value of any bonuses, benefits, or long-term incentives. This range is disclosed in compliance with the New York City Human Rights Law and applies to NYC-based roles. Compensation may vary for candidates located outside of New York City.
