The Chief of Staff will partner with the founder to drive company priorities, improve operations, and enhance communication across teams while building the organizational structure for rapid growth.
About the company:
- Everyone’s searched Reddit for health answers their doctor didn’t have. Atlas is building a new platform to help patients with chronic health conditions discover the treatments and protocols that actually work. Millions of patients are left to figure these conditions out on their own. We’re changing that.
TLDR:
- We’re looking for a Chief of Staff to build and run the operating system of the company, working directly with the founder to drive priorities, decisions, and execution.
Why this is special:
- We're solving one of the biggest problems in human health. This is a chance to build something meaningful, not another B2B SaaS company.
- The hard parts are derisked. Well-funded by top Silicon Valley investors. Led by a repeat founder with multiple exits. We move fast because we've done this before.
- You're not joining a team, you're building one. This is a day-zero founding role with massive career upside. The kind of work where you look back in five years and say "I built that”.
The right candidate will:
- Partner directly with the founder as a thought partner and decision-making ally. Push back when it matters.
- Be the connective tissue across product, growth, ops, hiring, brand, and community, wherever needs the most attention.
- Write at a founder level. Decks, investor updates, tweets. Set the standard for how the company communicates.
- Build the machine to keep everything running, so I can focus on building the product. Drive weekly priorities, follow-through, team comms, and the countless details that keep the company moving.
- Make executive-level decisions with imperfect information. Turn chaos into clarity.
- Hold an extremely high bar for quality across everything we ship, internal and external.
- Grow into a leadership role over time, potentially owning a core function such as operations, growth, or product as the company scales.
Who we're looking for:
- 🧠 As a human, you're...
- Not a jerk.
- Based in SF, or willing to relocate.
- Interested in health, longevity, and/or biohacking.
- Highly organized without being rigid. Structured, but adaptable.
- Confident enough to make decisions. Humble enough to change your mind.
- Detail-oriented but comfortable with ambiguity. Startups are messy.
- 📸 As an operator, you have...
- Experience in operations, consulting, product, or technical roles (prior experience as a CoS is preferred, but not required)
- Radical prioritization skills. You know what matters and what doesn’t.
- Executive-level judgment. You can make high-stakes decisions with limited data.
- The ability to context switch quickly across very different domains.
- Strong writing ability. You can write clearly, persuasively, and in someone else’s voice.
- High taste. Whether it’s a board deck, an investor update, or a tweet, the details matter.
We’d especially love to meet you if you’ve operated in a high-growth startup, or have taken on a broad, ambiguous role and thrived.
You won’t be a good fit for this role if:
- You want to be a glorified EA. This is not simply inbox and calendar management.
- You wait for someone to tell you what to do. We are a chaotic, early-stage startup. You will need to make judgment calls with imperfect, incomplete information.
- You’re uncomfortable with rapid change. Priorities will shift as we learn, and you need to adapt quickly.
- You’re naturally scattered or disorganized. This role requires someone who can track a lot of moving pieces and make sure nothing slips.
- You’re high ego or protective of your job description. This role requires doing whatever the company needs to move forward.
If you're looking for a 9-to-5, this isn't the right fit. We're building something that will genuinely change people's lives, and we work like it, which includes the occasional late nights and weekends. When the work matters, it doesn't feel like work :)
Compensation:
- $160k - $220k base (depending on experience) + generous founding team equity.
Our office is located at 44 Montgomery in the heart of downtown San Francisco, near public transit and many great restaurants. We provide daily team lunches, and top-tier healthcare benefits to keep you healthy.
