Position Summary:
We are seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist with a valid California CLS license to join our clinical operations team. This role involves supporting clinical trial workflows, ensuring regulatory compliance, and performing high-complexity testing in a CLIA-certified environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in molecular diagnostics and a passion for advancing clinical research.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct high-complexity molecular testing, including NGS-based assays, in compliance with CLIA/CAP regulations.
  • Perform sample and library QC.
  • Prepare sequencing libraries using established protocols.
  • Operate and maintain Illumina sequencers.
  • Review and validate clinical data and laboratory results for accuracy and completeness.
  • Collaborate with clinical trial sponsors and internal teams to ensure protocol adherence.
  • Maintain detailed documentation and contribute to regulatory submissions.
  • Assist in the development and validation of new clinical assays.
  • Participate in quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Responsible for maintaining updated understanding and knowledge of methods performed in the lab
  • Follows GLP (good laboratory practice): maintain clean and organized work space
  • Participates in the updating of departmental standard operating procedures to accurately reflect the current practices.
  • Performs quality control procedures to ensure accuracy of clinical data (if applicable)
  • Assists teammates in completing daily tasks


Qualifications:

  • Valid California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Molecular Biology, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in a clinical laboratory or clinical research setting.
  • Familiarity with NGS workflows and clinical assay validation preferred.
  • Strong understanding of CLIA/CAP regulations and GCP guidelines.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the USA.
