Description

Salary Range: $70,000 - $85,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.  

Muir Wood is a nationally recognized residential and outpatient treatment program serving teens ages 12–17 with mental health and substance use disorders. With 17 facilities across Northern, Central, and Southern California, we provide Joint Commission–accredited, trauma-informed care in safe, structured, and compassionate environments.

The Clinical Operations Manager (COM) is the on-site operational leader responsible for maintaining a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment for clients and staff. Reporting to the Clinical Director, the COM oversees Care Coordinators, Shift Supervisors, and Operations staff while ensuring staffing readiness, regulatory compliance, facility operations, and daily program excellence. 

Requirements

Team Leadership & Development

  • Directly supervise Care Coordinators, Shift Supervisors, and site Operations staff.
  • Recruit, onboard, train, and evaluate team members.
  • Provide consistent coaching, feedback, and recognition.
  • Address performance issues promptly and partner with HR on corrective actions.

Program Operations

  • Maintain visible leadership across shifts.
  • Support  de-escalation, safety events, and operational challenges.
  • Ensure trauma-informed care, ratio compliance, and daily schedule integrity.
  • Monitor client dynamics and staff interventions.

 Staffing & Compliance

  • Build and manage staff schedules to ensure coverage and admit readiness.
  • Oversee attendance, call-outs, and timecard approvals.
  • Maintain labor hours within budget without compromising care.
  • Monitor first-90-day performance of new hires.
  • Conduct daily/weekly walkthroughs and monthly EOC inspections.
  • Ensure compliance with Title 22, DHCS, Joint Commission, and internal standards.
  • Oversee incident reporting, safety inspections, and emergency preparedness.

 Facilities, Operations & Systems Partnership

  • Coordinate with housekeeping, culinary, maintenance, and external vendors.
  • Ensure facilities remain clean, safe, therapeutic, and admission-ready.
  • Support operational systems including AURA, MaintainX, and compliance trackers.

Qualifications Required

  • High school diploma or GED. 
  • 2+ years of leadership experience in behavioral health, residential treatment, healthcare, youth services, or a related field. 
  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills. 

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree. 
  • Experience with trauma-informed care and residential treatment programs. 
  • Knowledge of Title 22, DHCS, and Joint Commission standards.
