The Role
The Cloud Operations Specialist is responsible for managing end-to-end deal registration activities across cloud vendor portals to ensure accurate submissions, secure partner incentives, and prevent channel conflict. This role serves as a critical liaison between field sales, channel partners, and internal operations teams, ensuring data integrity, process consistency, and timely resolution of registration issues. The ideal candidate brings strong cloud knowledge, operational discipline, and a customer-service mindset to support evolving cloud sales programs.

Key Responsibilities

Deal Registration Management

  • Submit, track, and validate deal registrations in cloud vendor portals to secure partner credits, incentives, and protections.
  • Monitor registration status, approval timelines, and expiration dates to ensure opportunities remain compliant and active.
  • Identify and mitigate potential channel conflicts by ensuring accurate and timely registrations.

Back Office & Operational Support

  • Respond to inbound requests related to deal registration status, corrections, or re-submissions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with rejected, delayed, or disputed registrations.
  • Adapt and support deal registration processes as new cloud sales programs, vendors, or partner requirements are introduced.

Data Integrity & Systems Management

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in Salesforce and vendor portals, including registration status, partner information, and opportunity details.
  • Ensure alignment between Salesforce data and vendor systems to support reporting, forecasting, and audit readiness.
  • Perform regular data quality checks to identify gaps, inconsistencies, or errors.

Relationship & Stakeholder Management

  • Act as a liaison between field sales teams, channel partners, and internal partner or sales operations teams.
  • Communicate clearly and proactively to resolve registration issues and set expectations on timelines and requirements.
  • Build strong working relationships to enable smooth deal execution and partner satisfaction.

Process Documentation & Standardization

  • Document and standardize deal registration submission requirements across vendors.
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), job aids, and reference materials to support consistent and efficient registrations.
  • Recommend process improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.

Cloud Knowledge & Enablement

  • Apply working knowledge of cloud platforms and offerings to accurately register opportunities and select appropriate solutions.
  • Stay informed on vendor-specific deal registration rules, eligibility criteria, and program updates.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Experience

  • 1-3 years’ experience in sales operations, partner operations, or a back-office support role, preferably within a professional services or cloud-focused environment.
  • Demonstrated cloud aptitude is required.
  • Cloud Practitioner Certification (or equivalent foundational cloud certification) strongly recommended.

Tools & Systems

  • Hands-on experience using Salesforce for opportunity and data management.
  • Experience working with vendor partner portals is highly desirable.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Excel, including data validation, reporting, and reconciliation.
  • Ability to manage multiple requests and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Communication & Collaboration

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with sales, partner teams, and external stakeholders.
