Summary

The CloudOps Engineer at Protera is responsible for delivering high-quality cloud operations that facilitate reliable service delivery for our clients. This position entails actively managing and optimizing our clients' cloud infrastructures, ensuring efficient and secure cloud environments that align with best practices.

You will closely work with development teams to maintain continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, automate cloud operations, and implement strategies for cost efficiency, high availability, and performance monitoring across various cloud platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Cloud Operations Management

  • Monitor and maintain cloud environments, ensuring availability, reliability, and performance.
  • Oversee the deployment and configuration of applications on AWS and other cloud platforms.
  • Automate routine tasks and optimize cloud operations for better performance and cost efficiency.

CI/CD Implementation

  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar.
  • Collaborate with development teams to support software delivery cycles and orchestrate build/test/release stages effectively.

Security & Compliance

  • Implement and monitor security best practices for cloud infrastructure and services.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and frameworks (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) as applicable in client environments.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Create and maintain documentation related to cloud configurations and operational procedures.
  • Generate reports on cloud performance metrics for stakeholders and clients.

Requirements

Skills & Qualifications

Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in cloud operations or DevOps roles.

Technical Expertise:

  • Strong understanding of AWS services and cloud technologies.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar.
  • Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) technologies.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation.
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts and security best practices.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Certifications (Preferred):

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect or equivalent cloud certifications.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • A keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to infrastructure management.
