As Foods Connected continues to scale internationally, the North American region represents a critical growth market for Foods Connected. With a diverse customer base spanning retailers, manufacturers, and suppliers, this region demands a tailored approach to account management that balances strategic relationship building with commercial excellence.

The Commercial Director – North America will be at the forefront of this strategy, leading efforts to strengthen long-term partnerships, maximise customer value, and accelerate adoption of Foods Connected’s full product suite. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our customers not only renew their platform subscriptions but also expand their engagement through additional modules and services.

Operating in a dynamic and competitive environment, the Commercial Director will combine deep commercial acumen with a consultative approach, leveraging insights into regional market trends, regulatory requirements, and customer priorities. By fostering collaboration across Account Management, Professional Services, Product, and Sales, this leader will ensure that Foods Connected delivers measurable outcomes for customers while driving sustainable revenue growth for the business

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Regional Commercial Strategy & Leadership – 40%

  • Define and execute the commercial strategy for Foods Connected’s product specialisms within the North American region.
  • Develop frameworks for account growth, renewal optimization, and cross-sell/upsell opportunities tailored to regional market dynamics.
  • Establish KPIs and reporting mechanisms to track account health, adoption rates, and revenue performance across North America
  • Collaborate with SVP of Account Management to align regional goals with global growth objectives.

Customer Relationship & Value Realisation – 40%

  • Oversee strategic account planning and ensure strong relationships with senior stakeholders in key North American customer accounts.
  • Drive adoption of additional Foods Connected products by identifying regional customer needs and aligning solutions.
  • Ensure renewal processes are proactive, data-driven, and focused on delivering measurable customer outcomes.
  • Introduce scalable methodologies for account management, including regional playbooks and best practices.

Cross-Functional Collaboration – 20%

  • Partner with Professional Services to ensure smooth implementation and onboarding for new products in North America.
  • Work closely with Product teams to provide regional customer feedback and influence roadmap priorities.
  • Support Sales in pre-sales engagements for expansion opportunities within existing accounts.

QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES

To perform this job successfully, the Commercial Director- North America should have experience with and knowledge of:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in account management, commercial strategy, or customer success within a B2B SaaS environment.
  • Proven track record of driving revenue growth through renewals and upsell strategies in North American markets.
  • Strong leadership experience managing multi-country teams and complex enterprise accounts.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Deep understanding of SaaS commercial models, account planning, and customer lifecycle management.
  • Experience with CRM systems and data analytics for account health monitoring.
  • Strong financial acumen and ability to develop pricing and growth strategies.

Technical Skills

  • Knowledge of software solutions utilised across the Food Industry.
  • Microsoft: 365 Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Demonstrable experience in developing strategic and business plans. 
  • Experience in leading and growing a team in a lean customer driven process. 
  • Strong experience in business development strategies, customer engagement and customer negotiation. 
  • Strong understanding of finance and measures of performance. 
  • Familiarity with management best practices & excellent organisational and leadership skills. 
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
