Job Description

Agilent is seeking an initiative-taking, strategic, and detail-oriented communications professional to drive communication excellence, coordination, and governance across the Enterprise Communications team. The individual selected for this role will report to the Vice President of Enterprise Communications.

This role will be responsible for driving consistent and effective communications by focusing on everything from KPIs, playbooks and workflows to processes, standards, and templates to ensure a cohesive and consistent approach across the company’s communications.

In addition, the individual selected for this role will be called upon to support broadly disseminated communications for various members of the CEO’s staff, including but not limited to the CIO, CFO, and the Chief Strategy and Corporate Development Officer.

The ideal candidate will have a Growth Mindset and drive communications excellence through a complex enterprise-wide transformation.

Responsibilities:

Communication Excellence

  • Own communications best practices — defining best-in-class communications  and standards across the enterprise.

  • Design approaches, messaging frameworks and templates to ensure quality output across teams.

  • Publish playbooks and actively upskills to drive consistency across teams.

  • Measure and analyze effectiveness of communications strategies to adjust approaches based on feedback and analytics.

Communications Coordination and Harmonization

  • Facilitate coordination of communications activities across local and enterprise teams.

  • Build and manage coordinated communications calendar across all teams, e.g.  companywide, time-critical events.

  • Harmonize communications approach by creating an Enterprise Communications standard across countries, functions, and teams, e.g. for select events and channels.

Communications Governance

  • Own KPI processes, activity tracking, and escalation.

  • Define KPIs and targets for communications team to drive performance.

  • Own reporting process, including dashboards to share progress with stakeholders, and engage with teams on improvement opportunities.

Executive Communications

  • Serve as a strategic communications adviser to senior-level executives on messaging, tone, and speaker delivery and draft multiple forms of deliverables, including internal messages, executive presents, and scripts.

  • Understand the strategic objectives of Agilent’s businesses and organizations and develop strategic communications conveyed in the voice of our senior leaders.

  • Work closely with the Enterprise Communications leadership team — those who lead Country/Regional Communications, Business Communications, Employee Communications, and External Communications — to ensure continuity and consistency with leader communications both internally and externally.

Location:

Must be able to regularly commute to Santa Clara, California, headquarters.

Qualifications
  • 8+ years of communications and executive-communications experience.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communications skills.

  • Strong presence as a trusted communications adviser to top executives.

  • Ability to achieve positive results in a dynamic environment, often on short deadlines.

  • Experience managing business issues and navigating and synthesizing various viewpoints.

  • Ability to quickly understand Agilent’s business priorities to be effective.

  • Strong Microsoft PowerPoint skills and the ability to develop outstanding executive presentations.

  • Must be able to simultaneously focus on strategy, tactics, and driving results.

  • A strong collaborator with the ability to work cross-functionally and influence teams.

  • Skilled at navigating a complex, matrixed organization.

  • Experience executing coordinated, impactful communications strategies and programs.

Additional Details

The full-time equivalent pay range for this position is $134,208.00 - $209,700.00/yr plus eligibility for bonus, stock and benefits. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
