Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Strategic Communications
- Develop communication products including articles, newsletters, talking points, press materials, website content, and executive messaging.
- Support communication strategies that align with organizational goals and stakeholder priorities.
- Ensure messaging is clear, accurate, and tailored to diverse audiences.
Public Affairs & Stakeholder Engagement
- Assist with media relations and public affairs activities.
- Coordinate communication efforts across internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with leadership, staff, and community partners.
Digital Communications
- Manage and update digital communication channels, including websites, email communications, and social media platforms.
- Monitor engagement metrics and recommend improvements to communication strategies.
- Stay current with emerging communication technologies and social media trends.
Multimedia Support
- Assist in the planning and production of visual communications, including photography, videography, graphics, and multimedia content.
- Edit digital media using industry-standard software as needed.
- Support event coverage and organizational storytelling initiatives.
Project Coordination
- Manage multiple communication projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of communication products.
- Support special projects and organizational initiatives as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum of three (3) years of professional experience in public affairs, communications, or strategic communications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging for diverse audiences.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Proficiency using digital communication platforms and tools.
- Strong creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of social media platforms, content management, and engagement best practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting the Department of Defense (DoD), Defense Health Agency (DHA), Military Health System (MHS), or other federal healthcare organizations.
- Familiarity with military healthcare systems or military public affairs.
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud, including Photoshop, Premiere Pro, and After Effects.
- Experience supporting executive communications, internal communications, or strategic outreach initiatives.

- Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Strong organizational and project management abilities.
- Ability to communicate effectively with executives, healthcare professionals, military personnel, and public stakeholders.
