Sagetap is a rapidly growing startup changing how enterprise technology executives discover and evaluate software. Our AI-driven platform anonymously connects tech buyers with the industry’s most credible technology vendors, helping them cut through the noise and solve their biggest problems.
Backed by investors like NFX Ventures, Uncorrelated Ventures, and Emergent Ventures, we are on a mission to fundamentally change software discovery for senior technology leaders, fostering meaningful connections in a non-sales setting.
We’re a tight-knit, fast-moving team that values curiosity, transparency, and impact. If you’re energetic, results-oriented, and excited to work in an early-stage environment, come help us shape the future of technology buying at Sagetap.
Job DescriptionAt Sagetap, activation and engagement are the engine of our marketplace.
As a Community Development Manager, you will own the onboarding, activation, engagement, and long-term success of the executive network that powers Sagetap. Your primary objective is to maximize Monthly Active Sages (MAS) by converting sign-ups into activated participants while building meaningful, long-term engagement across the network.
This is not a passive community management role. It is a high-touch, executive-facing growth function. You will engage directly with senior technology leaders, guide them toward Initiative creation, facilitate meaningful connections, and ensure they consistently realize value from the Sagetap network.
Your role sits at the intersection of customer success, community, marketplace growth, and executive relationship management. You will combine structured onboarding and activation discipline with thoughtful community programming, retention strategies, and relationship development.
You are comfortable operating with imperfect information, moving quickly, and building process where none exists.
Execute personalized LinkedIn and email outreach within 24 hours of every new Sage sign-up
Run confident, structured onboarding calls with senior technology executives to qualify intent and drive meaningful engagement
Guide Sages toward Initiative creation during or immediately following onboarding
Clearly position Standard vs Pro engagement models
Capture clear next steps before every onboarding interaction ends
Recover incomplete sign-ups and unbooked onboarding flows
Track activation status daily and proactively identify engagement gaps early
Build trusted relationships with Sages and ensure they feel supported, valued, and connected to the network
Create thoughtful touchpoints that encourage repeat engagement and long-term participation
Proactively re-engage inactive Sages through personalized outreach and relationship management
Identify opportunities for meaningful Sage-to-Sage introductions and connections
Strengthen long-term marketplace engagement through high-quality executive experiences

Partner with Growth and Content to align programming themes with marketplace priorities
Support occasional in-person gatherings and relationship-building opportunities

Strengthen the network effect of the platform by fostering meaningful executive engagement, not just attendance
Maintain strong CRM hygiene and structured reporting practices
Monitor onboarding, activation, and engagement dashboards daily
Establish and maintain tracking for MAS, Active Initiatives, and Initiative Progress
Gather qualitative feedback and surface trends, friction points, and opportunities to leadership
Test activation and engagement experiments and iterate based on results
Partner cross-functionally with Product, Growth, Sales, and Leadership to improve the Sage experience
3–7 years of experience in customer success, executive engagement, community growth, marketplace operations, or relationship-driven roles
Strong executive presence and communication skills with the ability to engage senior technology leaders confidently
Highly organized and operationally disciplined with strong follow-through
Metrics-oriented mindset with experience managing funnels, engagement, or activation performance
Strong relationship-building instincts and emotional intelligence
Comfortable balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution
Curious, proactive, and resilient in fast-moving environments
Experience working cross-functionally across Growth, Product, Sales, or Operations teams
Excited to build systems, processes, and engagement programs from the ground up
