Job Description

Project Duration: (role concludes upon successful completion of defined deliverables). This is a remote position.

We are seeking an accomplished, results‑driven Compensation Program Director for a high‑impact, time‑bound engagement. In this termed role, you will lead the design and delivery of a refreshed job architecture and market‑aligned base pay structure—critical foundations for how we grow, develop, and reward our people.

You will own the successful, on‑time delivery of:

  • A revised and simplified job architecture, including job families and job descriptions
  • A coherent and consistent job leveling and titling framework
  • Clear and accessible career pathing resources across job families
  • A market‑aligned, simplified base pay structure (grades & ranges) designed to fit the new architecture
  • A repeatable job evaluation methodology to support future role creation and leveling
  • Comprehensive documentation of decisions, frameworks, and final structures
  • Regular project updates for HR and Executive Leadership
  • A coordinated cross‑functional approach with HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, and business leaders
  • A communications and change‑management plan to support organization‑wide rollout

The successful candidate will:

  • Bring deep expertise across all areas of compensation, including job architecture, pay structures, base/variable pay, and innovative compensation solutions
  • Confidently lead cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders through complex decisions
  • Use data to inform recommendations and gain alignment
  • Communicate complex concepts simply and persuasively
  • Deliver training and enablement materials that equip managers and employees to navigate the new structure
  • Build trust quickly, work with urgency, and consistently deliver high‑quality outcomes

Exciting candidates:

  • Have 8+ years of compensation experience, with direct experience leading job architecture or pay structure redesigns
  • Have experience leading teams or large‑scale cross‑functional initiatives
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree (advanced degree preferred)
  • Bring expertise in U.S. and Canadian compensation
  • Are highly proficient in Microsoft tools (Excel, Word, Outlook); Power BI experience is a plus
  • Are an advanced HRIS user, ideally with Workday
  • Have experience presenting to Executive Leadership
  • Thrive in fast-paced, high-volume, feedback-rich environments
  • Are known for your resilience, resourcefulness, and ability to build strong partnerships
  • Are energized by project sprints and delivering measurable impact
