About the Legal, Compliance, and Public Affairs function

The Legal, Compliance, and Public Affairs team is a group of dedicated professionals committed to helping Affirm scale, innovate, and provide outstanding products for consumers, merchants, and key partners. We combine legal, compliance, and policy expertise to guide growth, shape products, and build trust across our ecosystem. Our work spans multiple professional disciplines and provides the foundation for Affirm’s mission to deliver honest financial products.

About the team

Affirm’s Compliance team designs and implements a compliance program that enables Affirm to proactively adhere to regulatory requirements while also identifying and addressing potential regulatory issues that may arise. As a second line of defence, Compliance proactively partners with the business to support new products, markets and initiatives, issue identification and remediation plans and assessment and monitoring of third parties. Compliance activities also include prevention and detection activities not limited to administering compliance training, independent testing & monitoring, reporting, escalation and oversight.

Affirm is seeking a Compliance Analyst II to support certain critical compliance management program elements. In this role, you will work cross functionally to assist in building the Compliance monitoring function. Are you looking to further your career in compliance or to take a foray into the field? What You'll Do

  • Partner with compliance subject matter specialists to operationalize the Compliance Monitoring Program.
  • Identify compliance concerns through monitoring and escalating to senior management.
  • Remain abreast of current merchant programs, along with marketing and product offers.
  • Work with cross functional partners to address any concerns identified.
  • Assist in ongoing reporting of monitoring results on adherence to compliance program requirements.
  • Assist in the development of additional monitoring metrics as needed.
  • Respond to merchant compliance questions and inquiries, providing clear guidance on regulatory requirements, policies, and corrective expectations.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to achieve monthly and quarterly monitoring goals. 
  • Support other key compliance and risk management projects as needed.

What We Look For

  • 2-3 years of professional work experience in Compliance, Enterprise or Operational Risk, or Audit, preferred.
  • Inquisitive and proactive in proposing creative and effective solutions.
  • Strong project management, critical thinking, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Interest in fintech and consumer finance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex and critical issues.

Pay Grade - H

Equity Grade - 3

Affirm focuses on providing a simple and transparent pay structure which is based on a variety of factors, including location, experience and job-related skills. Base pay is part of a total compensation package that may include monthly stipends for health, wellness and tech spending, and benefits (including 100% subsidized medical coverage, dental and vision for you and your dependents). In addition, the employees may be eligible for equity rewards offered by Affirm Holdings, Inc. (parent company).

CAN base pay range per year: $78,000 - $118,000

Employees new to Affirm typically come in at the start of the pay range.
