ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a Compliance Coordinator - Buy America, who will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of the Buy America certification process and compliance inclusive of managing, scheduling and maintaining the Buy America certifications.  As the Compliance Coordinator - Buy America, you will be responsible for the reporting, bus costing calculations, audit support, audit or relationships, inquires and serving as a key business partner across GILLIG.  This position is located in Pleasanton, CA office and reports directly to the Supervisor, Cost Accounting within the Finance Department.   

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL

  • Responsible for the Buy America certification process including Buy America content calculations, bus costing and preparing all certification documentation
  • Create standard templates to ensure compliance consistency and maintain audit packages of pre- and post-award Buy America compliance documentation in database
  • Communicate, coordinate and answer all inquiries with Buy America auditors as the key liaison
  • Business partner and provide direct support as a subject matter expert on Buy America compliance and regulations across GILLIG with Sales, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Engineering, Parts, IT and Product Strategy
  • Build impactful working relationships with internal business partners, customers and contracted auditors to ensure best in class Buy America certification and audit fulfillment
  • Identify and execute continuous improvement on costed bill of material formatting as it relates to maximum efficiency and compliance of Buy America audits
  • Business partner and coordinate with Supply Chain to ensure timeliness of annual supplier self-certification procurement and related ERP master data updates
  • Other cost accounting and projects as assigned

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate Degree or higher in Business Administration required
  • Minimum 2 years experience in Finance or Accounting required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Experience in a financial module of an ERP such as Syteline, SAP, Oracle, etc. preferred
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ownership skills demonstrating initiative and drive
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Teamwork skill set and ability to build impactful working relationships with both internal and external customers and business partners

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Ability to lift 25 lbs.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting/standing at a desk and working on a computer
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, and walk and occasionally kneel or squat
  • The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation
  • Limited Travel Required
  • Standard start time: 6:30AM (negotiable)
  • Must be able to navigate manufacturing environment, comfortable around heavy machinery, tools, etc.
  • Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment, (i.e. safety glasses, bump caps, hearing protection, etc.)

EXPECTED COMPENSATION

 $27.00-$37.00/per hour + premium benefits  

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job classification, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if a candidate receives an offer of employment.
