About the Role

The Portfolio Monitoring practice line is one of the fastest growing area’s at Alpha Alternatives due to our firms unique ability to infuse technology, automations and various control’s around a process that is notoriously manual and inefficient. As a Portfolio Monitoring Technology Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in implementing and optimizing cutting-edge technology solutions for portfolio monitoring and analysis. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements, configure software platforms, and ensure seamless integration with existing systems. Your expertise will drive efficiency, enhance data accuracy, and empower our clients to make informed investment decisions. Through that journey it will be important for you to build strong client relationships of trust and domain experience. Responsibilities

As a Consultant, you will be a part of a team participating in the entire lifecycle of designing and implementing best-practice Portfolio Monitoring Operating Models & Technology. We are seeking a team member with experience in consulting or client-side within the private capital markets industry, preferably with exposure to Portfolio Monitoring technologies or a demonstrated aptitude for working with relational databases. As part of this team, you will play a pivotal role in implementing and optimizing technical builds on a variety of project types and for a variety of clients. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements, configure the platform, and ensure seamless integration with existing systems. Your expertise will drive efficiency, enhance data accuracy, and empower our clients to make informed decisions. The ideal candidate will understand our clients’ business development processes such as deal sourcing, pipeline management, fundraising, and investor relations. You will be a critical member of client engagement teams taking part in the entire life cycle of designing and implementing best-practice and bespoke operating models. You will be responsible for creating client-facing documentation including current state / future state analysis, strategic design, initiative prioritization, sequencing, road-mapping, and a phased approach to delivery. Through that journey, it will be important for you to build strong client relationships of trust and domain experience. As you build knowledge and experience, you will become a credible advisor to more junior colleagues within the organization, as well as your clients, helping them accelerate the delivery of products and services to their users. As Alpha Alternatives continues its growth as a leader in Private Markets Technology, your ability to stay at the forefront of innovative solutions will be critical.

In this capacity your responsibilities will include:

  • Operating Model Design including current state / future state analysis, strategic design, initiative prioritization, sequencing, road mapping and a phased approach to delivery
  • Implementation of portfolio monitoring technology solutions.
  • Collaboration with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate requirements into technical specifications.
  • Conducting thorough analysis of existing processes to identify opportunities for improvement and automation.
  • Providing training and support to end-users, ensuring proficient utilization of technology platforms.
  • Monitoring system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement enhancements to optimize functionality.
  • Staying abreast of industry trends and best practices in portfolio monitoring technology.

Qualifications and Skills

  • 2-4 years of experience in management consulting, technology or operating in the Private Markets Investment Industry
  • Proven experience in implementing portfolio monitoring technology on the client or vendor side
  • Experience with Portfolio Monitoring technology project execution and guiding clients through complex technology transformation initiatives
  • Strong understanding of investment products, asset classes, and portfolio management principles.
  • Experience with data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau, Power BI).
  • Experience defining, communicating and tracking metrics for success (OKRs and KPIs)
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to create a compelling story from data analysis
  • Ambitious and entrepreneurial in nature with the desire to grow in a collaborative environment
  • Experience in data analysis, financial analysis constructing analytical models based on historical and projected data.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a passion for problem-solving and continuous improvement

There are a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to - skill sets, experience and training, and licensure and certifications. A reasonable estimate of the salary range is $75,000 to $120,000 subject to change based on salary benchmarking. In addition to this salary, candidates will be eligible for a variable bonus.
