Responsible for creating, shooting, and editing social-first content, while collaborating across teams to enhance Thuma's brand narrative.
Thuma is looking for a Content Creator to join our Brand and Creative team in San Francisco. This role is for someone who lives and breathes social first content, someone who is excited to experiment, iterate, and push how a design led brand shows up across channels.
You’ll be responsible for ideating, shooting, and editing video and still content that feels native to social and other marketing platforms while remaining elevated and aligned with Thuma’s brand. You’ll work hands on across locations, including our SF headquarters, Sausalito studio, and flagship retail stores, to help diversify our content library and bring new creative energy into the brand.
This is a highly collaborative role that sits at the intersection of creative concepting, production, and post production, with room to test, learn, and evolve how we tell Thuma’s story.
Thuma’s Headquarters is based in the historic Presidio neighborhood of San Francisco. The role involves three days in the office each week and occasional additional days as needed.
In recognition of the personal and professional benefits that team members gain from time spent together in person, we organize a range of events throughout each year designed to bring our entire team together!
Key Responsibilities
- Independently concept, shoot, and edit video and still content for use across organic social, paid media, email, site, and other brand channels.
- Capture content across multiple locations: SF HQ, Sausalito studio, and Thuma flagship stores.
- Own content end-to-end—from initial idea and briefing through final edit and delivery.
- Create a mix of scrappy, experimental content and more polished brand moments.
- Adapt and version edits for different channels and formats while maintaining brand consistency.
- Attend all Thuma events and photoshoots to capture additional social-first content.
- Generate original ideas and concepts to help diversify Thuma’s content mix (product, lifestyle, BTS, process, human moments, editorial-UGC hybrids).
- Stay close to platform trends and evolving formats, translating them into content that feels authentic and elevated.
- Contribute creative thinking to campaigns, launches, events, and evergreen storytelling.
- Proactively identify new opportunities for content experimentation and creative growth.
- Utilize AI tools to maximize efficiencies in creation and editing processes.
- Work closely with designers, brand strategy, marketing, and performance teams to ensure content aligns with broader GTM goals.
- Participate in briefings, creative planning, and reviews.
- Be comfortable receiving feedback, iterating quickly, and evolving ideas in real time.
This Might Describe You
- 1-3 years of experience creating and editing content for brands, agencies, or as an independent creator.
- Proven experience concepting, shooting, and editing social-first content end-to-end.
- Strong visual sensibility and understanding of composition, lighting, pacing, and sound.
- Proficiency with editing tools (e.g. Premiere Pro, Final Cut, After Effects, CapCut, or similar).
- Fluency in short-form video platforms (Instagram, TikTok, etc.).
- Ability to version content efficiently for multiple channels.
- Experience collaborating within a creative or brand team.
- Bonus: experience in design, lifestyle, fashion, or home-related brands.
Who You Are
- A hands-on creator who enjoys owning the full content process—from concept to final edit.
- Comfortable shooting and editing both video and stills (iPhone-native content and more intentional shoots).
- Naturally creative, flexible, and excited by experimentation.
- Organized enough to manage shoots, edits, and timelines, but nimble enough to pivot quickly.
- Someone who understands that the best social content today is often iterative, human, and platform-aware.
- Motion graphics or light animation experience
- Experience shooting in retail or live environments
- Comfort appearing on camera or directing others informally
- Strong interest in design, interiors, architecture, or lifestyle storytelling
