About Nuon

Nuon is pioneering Bring Your Own Cloud (BYOC) — a new model for SaaS infrastructure. We enable companies to deploy software directly into their customers’ cloud environments, delivering enterprise-grade security, compliance, and performance by default. Based in San Francisco, we’re backed by top investors, having raised $16.5M, and we're on a mission to change how modern software is delivered.

Your Mission

Your mission is to show the world how BYOC works in practice. By building real features and writing about them, you’ll make Nuon the go-to resource for developers who want to understand, adopt, and deploy BYOC. Through a mix of production code, demos, tutorials, and documentation, you’ll bring Nuon’s platform to life for both our customers and the broader developer community. From banger tweets to in-depth technical resources and long-form talks, we aim to connect with developers through various mediums and empower them to ship BYOC.

This content will be the first Nuon touchpoint for many of our users. We aim not only to showcase the power, stability, and developer experience of Nuon but also to be a trusted resource for them when it comes to implementing BYOC.

The Role

We’re hiring a Content Engineer who loves both building and explaining complex concepts. This is a hybrid role, comprising 50% engineering and 50% content creation. You’ll contribute directly to Nuon’s platform while also producing high-quality sample code, technical blog posts, and technical demos to improve the developer experience and sample apps that showcase BYOC in action. You'll ship polished projects using our API, create sample apps, and be hands-on in creating coding-related content for the internet. If you enjoy writing production code as much as you enjoy writing about it, this role is for you. You'll chat with our customers to deeply understand what they need, how they found us, and what they searched. You’ll create written content + build apps around their interests.

What You’ll Do

  • Ship high-quality technical content (videos, cookbooks, integrations, creative mini-apps) that helps developers see the value of BYOC.

  • Contribute to Nuon’s core platform (Golang, Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure)—tooling, APIs, and integrations that improve developer experience. Develop open-source projects and code samples that demonstrate Nuon.

  • Partner with our product and engineering teams and manage documentation projects.

  • Create developer-facing documentation and guides for APIs, developers, and SRE tools to enable developers and the monitoring community to onboard and succeed with our products.

  • Dig into the source code for community and internally developed systems to collect technical details for documentation purposes.

  • Engage with users in our community, both online (X, Reddit, Slack) and at in-person events.

  • Set objectives that are aligned with the greater GTM team and track the impact of the initiatives you work on.

You Are

  • 2–4+ years of software engineering experience, ideally in infrastructure, DevTools, or SaaS.

  • You have publicly available technical writing samples.

  • Strong communicator with a knack for translating technical concepts into clear content.

  • Comfortable writing production code and quick prototypes.

  • Familiar with Golang, Kubernetes, Terraform, and major cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure).

  • You have experience managing large and complex documentation sets, as well as developing well-structured and effective information architecture.

  • Is metrics-driven and takes quantitative approaches to prioritizing initiatives

  • Excited about working in a fast-paced startup environment where impact is high and roles are fluid.

Location

  • Strong preference for San Francisco. (In-office 5 days a week).

  • Open to exceptional remote candidates in the U.S.
