Content Marketing Intern
At some point in the future, every business will answer their phone with voice AI. We are building the platform that makes it possible.
Phonely builds conversational voice AI agents for high-volume phone workflows. Our customers use us to qualify leads, book appointments, route calls, and resolve real customer conversations in production. We just raised a Series A from top-tier investors, we are one of the fastest-growing companies in San Francisco right now, and we are just getting started.
About the Role
This is not a "schedule some posts and update the content calendar" internship. We are looking for someone who has already proven they can build something from nothing, whether that is a social following, a side business, a creative campaign that actually moved numbers, or some scrappy automation that made a real difference.
You will work directly with the founding team on growth marketing, content, social, and whatever else needs to happen to get Phonely in front of more people. We do not have a playbook for you to follow. You will be writing it.
What You Will Do

  • Edit raw video into short-form clips that stop people mid-scroll, optimized for LinkedIn, X, and YouTube Shorts

  • Write captions, hooks, and copy that sound like Phonely, clear, confident, and worth reading

  • Come up with a constant stream of content ideas: formats, angles, and topics that connect our product to what people care about

  • Design graphics, carousels, and thumbnails in Canva to support posts and campaigns

  • Cover product launches, company news, and industry moments with content that cuts through the noise

  • Keep a consistent posting cadence across platforms and make sure nothing slips

  • Track what is performing and bring those insights back to the team

What You Will Bring

  • You write exceptionally well, not just correctly, but with voice, rhythm, and instinct for what lands

  • You have a strong eye for video. You know what to cut, what to keep, and how to make 60 seconds feel effortless

  • You are overflowing with ideas. You consume content constantly and have strong opinions about what works and why

  • You get up to speed on new topics fast, you do not need to be a technical expert but you will need to understand what Phonely does and why it matters

  • You move fast, take ownership, and do not wait for someone to tell you what to do next

  • You are comfortable with video editing tools, CapCut, Premiere, DaVinci, or whatever you have figured out on your own

  • You can put together clean, compelling visuals in Canva or Figma, graphics, carousels, thumbnails, whatever the content needs

Bonus Points

  • You have grown a social account or brand page organically, any size, any platform

  • You have made content for a company, team, or organization before

  • You have a genuine interest in AI, tech, or B2B, you find the space interesting, not just the content side

  • You have ghost-written or managed a voice that is not your own

Why Join Phonely
We are a team of ex-athletes, founders, and builders with low egos and high standards. We take the work seriously without taking ourselves too seriously. On-site in San Francisco, meals covered, quarterly offsites to interesting places (Rocky Mountains, Costa Rica, Indonesia). You will work directly with the founders and have a front-row seat to what it looks like to scale a company at this stage. If you are looking for a line on your resume, this is not it. If you are looking to prove what you can do when someone gives you a real shot, this is it.
Interview Process
1. Quick intro call to hear your story and what you have built
2. Show us your work: walk us through something you grew, launched, or hacked together
3. Final conversation with Will
