Lead content marketing strategy to drive growth and visibility for a technical product, targeting Machine Learning Engineers and Data Platform teams, leveraging SEO, AEO, and automation tools.
The summary above was generated by AI

First and most importantly: our mission is to bring transparency and clarity to the world's data.

Our platform, FiftyOne, is where AI work happens. Our enterprise platform is the mission critical linchpin for managing unstructured data, model development, and AI systems at the world's largest companies, including dozens from the Fortune 500.

We believe that open source is the way to lead the data-centric AI revolution. Our open source version has 4 million downloads to-date.

Our software massively impacts AI work across almost every vertical: from self-driving cars to medical imaging to revolutionizing agriculture, we are at the thrilling center of real-world AI advancement’s next wave.

And we’re built on three key tenets:

  • We are all human beings: we strive to be a “human-first” organization and treat everyone with the respect, care, and flexibility that all people deserve.
  • We are distributed: we believe in getting autonomy and power into the hands of people actually doing the work.
  • We believe in the power of community.

We are fully remote, hiring for people based in North America and who are prepared to travel to at least 2 in-person retreats per year.

The Role

We're looking for a strategic content marketing leader who can drive organic growth for a deeply technical product. You'll own content strategy, SEO, and AEO for an audience of Machine Learning Engineers and Data Platform teams working in computer vision and multimodal AI.

This role is for someone who can bridge marketing strategy with technical teams. You understand ML workflows well enough to direct content strategy, work effectively with engineers and technical writers, and leverage modern tools (including AI) to scale content production efficiently. You translate complex technical capabilities into compelling narratives that rank and convert.

This role is for someone who sees content creation equally as an engineering problem: build systems, and leverage LLMs to scale production while maintaining technical credibility. You understand technical audiences because you've worked with them, and you can translate that knowledge into content that ranks and converts.

What You'll Do
  • Drive measurable growth in search visibility, organic traffic, and lead generation through data-driven content strategy
  • Own SEO strategy for ML engineering audiences - conduct technical audits, keyword research, competitive analysis, and content gap identification
  • Develop and execute editorial calendar aligned with product launches, market opportunities, and high-impact keyword targets
  • Partner with engineering, product, customer success, developer relations, and sales to write and direct technical content that's accurate and compelling
  • Conduct technical website SEO audits using tools like Google Search Console, Ahrefs, Semrush, and Screaming Frog to identify and resolve crawlability, indexing, and performance issues
  • Build scalable content systems using AI/automation tools, prompt engineering, templates, and streamlined workflows
  • Run experiments on content formats, distribution channels, and messaging to optimize performance

Required

  • Proven track record of SEO & AEO-led growth with measurable outcomes - a growth hacker mindset that is comfortable analyzing performance metrics and making decisions based on data
  • 4+ years in content marketing, SEO, or growth marketing for B2B developer tools, ML/AI platforms, or similar technical products
  • Hands-on experience with SEO tools: Google Search Console, Ahrefs or Semrush, Screaming Frog or similar crawlers
  • Strong editorial judgment and technical fluency to commission, review, and optimize content for both accuracy and search performance
  • Experience managing or working with technical contributors (engineers, technical writers, developer relations)
  • Track record of building scalable content operations without proportionally scaling budget or headcount

Nice to Have

  • Experience with prompt engineering or AI content tools
  • Background working with open source developer communities
  • Experience marketing to data scientists or ML engineering audiences
  • Understanding of how developers evaluate and adopt technical tools
  • Technical writing portfolio or content you've directed that ranks well for competitive keywords

The cash compensation for this person is in the $125K - $145K range. In addition to base comp for this role, we offer equity in the form of options, a variety of benefits, and the opportunity to grow in an exciting and collaborative environment.

Key Facts About San Francisco Tech

  • Major Tech Employers: Google, Apple, Salesforce, Meta
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, fintech, consumer technology, software
  • Funding Landscape: $50.5 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
