OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and organized Content Writer to join Asian Career House. This volunteer will support ACH and our partner initiative, Common Roots Wellness, by creating engaging blog content that highlights our programs, amplifies community stories, and communicates our mission through accessible and impactful storytelling.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Write and edit blog posts for ACH and Common Roots Wellness websites.

  • Collaborate with program and communications teams to capture impact stories and translate them into narrative content.

  • Conduct interviews or gather quotes from community members, partners, or team leads for content development.

  • Research topics related to career navigation, professional development, undergrad student and high school student life, mental health, identity, and culture as needed to support blog content.

  • Help maintain a content calendar and contribute ideas for future blog posts.

  • Ensure writing reflects the voice, mission, and values of ACH and Common Roots Wellness

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong writing and editing skills with a clear, engaging voice.

  • Experience writing blog posts or similar content (please share samples).

  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

  • Interest in community storytelling, inclusion, or Asian identity.

  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Familiarity with content management platforms like Squarespace.

  • Background in journalism, communications, English, or a related field.

  • Experience writing for nonprofits or advocacy organizations.

  • Understanding of SEO principles and digital storytelling.

EXPECTATIONS

  • This is a volunteer role; we’re asking for 3–5 hours/week max to contribute. No volunteer should exceed these hours without communication to their manager.

  • Must attend meetings for team updates and 1:1s.

  • Communication is key and participation is required to commit to the project.
