About Wider Circle

Wider Circle partners with health plans and provider groups to deliver community-based programs that connect neighbors and improve health outcomes, focusing on health equity and social care for Medicare/Medicaid populations. As a 1099 Talent Acquisition Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in recruiting frontline community health professionals who directly impact communities across the United States. You will be supported a growing talent acquisition team and collaborate closely with HR and hiring managers to ensure a seamless recruitment and onboarding process.

About the role

We are looking for an experienced, field-savvy Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist with a proven track record of recruiting state-certified Community Health Workers. This is not a generalist role. You are an expert in the CHW talent ecosystem — the certifying bodies, the training programs, the community organizations where qualified candidates are found. You have built pipelines in this space before and know that the best CHW talent rarely comes from a LinkedIn search.

In this role, you will own full-cycle CHW recruiting across our active markets. You will be expected to close 20–30 CHW roles per month by leveraging your existing relationships with state certification boards, Area Health Education Centers, CHW training programs, and community-based organizations. You will work closely with hiring managers across markets and bring a level of CHW market expertise that shortens time-to-fill and improves quality of hire.

Key Requirements include:

CHW Pipeline & Sourcing Strategy

  • Own sourcing and pipeline development for CHW roles across PA, NJ, TN, TX, CA, and SC — leveraging established relationships with certifying bodies, training programs, and community networks
  • Bring or build and maintain active partnerships with state-level CHW resources including PA AHEC, the NJ DOH Colette Lamothe-Galette CHW Institute, NCHWTC at Texas A&M, Calbright College (CA), and the South Carolina Community Health Worker Association
  • Drive community-based sourcing through local nonprofits, faith-based organizations, health fairs, and word-of-mouth referral networks in each market
  • Conduct phone screens and competency-based assessments aligned to CHW core competencies and the specific needs of each hiring market
  • Consistently close 20–30 CHW roles per month across all active markets

Candidate & Hiring Manager Partnership

  • Serve as the primary recruiting partner for hiring managers across multiple geographies, providing market intelligence and advising on realistic hiring timelines and pay positioning
  • Guide candidates through the full hiring process with a high-touch, mission-aligned approach that reflects Wider Circle’s commitment to the communities we serve
  • Facilitate interview scheduling for candidates with hiring managers and directors.
  • Perform reference checks and deliver clear, structured summaries to hiring decision-makers.
  • Lead consensus meetings to arrive at consistent and efficient hiring decisions.
  • Extend offers to and successfully close candidates.

Market Intelligence & Strategy

  • Track CHW certification and workforce developments across active and emerging states, flagging changes to certification requirements, pipeline constraints, or pay trends that could affect hiring
  • Provide regular market intelligence to the TA team and leadership on CHW talent availability, competitive positioning, and sourcing effectiveness by market
  • Recommend and test new sourcing channels in each market, including partnerships with community colleges, workforce development programs, and Medicaid managed care training initiatives

Reporting & Administration

  • Maintain accurate, real-time candidate records in our ATS (Workable) with disciplined tracking of source, stage, and close rate by market
  • Prepare weekly recruiting dashboards tracking open requisitions, pipeline health, time-to-fill, and closes by state
  • Identify and surface patterns in sourcing performance and candidate quality to continuously improve the CHW recruiting playbook

Onboarding Support

  • Partner with HR and hiring managers to ensure smooth handoff from offer acceptance through Day 1, with particular attention to credential verification and state-specific onboarding requirements
  • Support background check coordination and required documentation for CHW roles

RequirementsWhat You Bring
  • 5+ years of full-cycle talent acquisition experience, with at least 2 years focused on Community Health Worker, care navigation, or community health roles
  • Demonstrated relationships with one or more CHW training programs, certification boards, or state CHW associations (please be prepared to speak to these specifically)
  • Proven ability to close 20+ roles per month in a high-volume, geographically distributed environment
  • Deep familiarity with CHW certification frameworks across multiple states, including differences between state-operated programs, independent credentialing boards, and association-run programs
  • Experience with community-based and grassroots sourcing — word of mouth, nonprofit networks, community events, faith-based organizations — not just job boards and LinkedIn
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred; many of our target markets include large promotora de salud communities (TX, CA)
  • Experience recruiting in PA, NJ, TN, TX, CA, or SC specifically is a significant advantage
  • Proficiency with Workable or comparable ATS; strong pipeline hygiene and reporting habits
  • Genuine alignment with Wider Circle’s mission to improve health equity and outcomes for underserved populations
How You Work
  • You are passionate, dedicated and hard-working and have strong motivation to meet deadlines and goals.
  • You operate independently and manage your own pipeline without close supervision — you know what good CHW recruiting looks like and you hold yourself to that standard
  • You communicate clearly and proactively with hiring managers, setting honest expectations and delivering consistent updates
  • You are able to balance the tension between speed and quality goals and able to adapt your approach depending on business needs
  • You bring market knowledge to the table, not just execution — you can push back on unrealistic timelines, advise on pay competitiveness, and flag pipeline risks early
  • You approach every candidate interaction as a reflection of Wider Circle’s mission and values, particularly given the community-facing nature of the roles you are filling
  • Wider Circle’s work at the intersection of community health, health equity, and social care genuinely energizes you

BenefitsWhat Wider Circle Offers
  • Competitive hourly compensation of $35–$40/hour (1099 contract)
  • Evaluation for FTE conversion in 90 days
  • The chance to build something that matters — and to see the direct impact of your work on communities across the country
