So if wanting to do more, own more, and make a bigger impact comes naturally to you, then you may be the person we're looking for to join us in our next stage of growth.

You'll partner closely with our internal teams to modernize our email program, beginning with a complete refresh of our existing templates before supporting ongoing campaign design. If you know how to simplify layouts, create lightweight animations, optimize for deliverability, and design emails that convert, we'd love to hear from you.

Contract Details

  • Initial design exercise as part of the selection process
  • 3-month contract to start, with potential for extension
  • Phase 1: Redesign approximately 15 existing email templates over a 2–3 week period
  • Phase 2: Ongoing support designing 1–2 marketing emails per week

What you'll do

  • Redesign and modernize MNTN's library of email templates in Figma with a focus on performance, usability, and brand consistency.
  • Design high-converting marketing emails that are concise, engaging, and optimized for click-through—not just aesthetics.
  • Create lightweight animations and interactive elements that enhance engagement while remaining email-client friendly.
  • Apply email design best practices, including hierarchy, scannability, mobile responsiveness, accessibility, and deliverability considerations.
  • Partner with Marketing to iterate quickly based on campaign goals and performance insights.
  • Deliver organized, developer-friendly Figma files that are production-ready.

What you'll bring

  • 5+ years designing marketing emails, with a portfolio that demonstrates deep email expertise.
  • A portfolio heavily focused on email design. We're specifically looking for email design work, not product design, web design, or broad marketing portfolios.
  • Expert proficiency in Figma.
  • Strong understanding of email design constraints across major email clients and devices.
  • Experience designing emails that balance compelling creative with technical realities like image weight, rendering, spam considerations, and performance.
  • Experience creating lightweight animations (GIFs or similar) that improve engagement without sacrificing deliverability.
  • Ability to translate performance insights into stronger creative and continuously improve designs through iteration.

What success looks like

  • Refreshes MNTN's existing library of 15 email templates within the first 2–3 weeks while elevating visual quality and usability.
  • Delivers polished, on-brand email designs that are optimized for engagement and production.
  • Brings fresh ideas for simplifying layouts, improving scannability, and increasing email performance.
  • Establishes a reliable rhythm of delivering 1–2 high-quality email designs each week after the initial template overhaul.

Please note: When applying, include a portfolio showcasing your email design work. We're specifically evaluating candidates with deep experience designing marketing emails and are not considering portfolios focused primarily on web, brand, or product design.
