The Controller Group Strategic Initiatives Analyst is an embedded technical-finance professional focused on the digital modernization of the Controllers Group. As a "Power User," this role executes the day-to-day activities of the Digital Champion model, bridging the gap between business pain points and technical AI/automation requirements.  A significant part of the role is also to provide PMO support to drive forward the multiple transformation projects required to deliver on the 2030 Vision for the Controllers Group.

The Opportunity: 

SE6 & SE7 ( One position but two possible levels based on skills and qualifications).

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

Digital Champion Execution (Primary Focus):

  • Requirement Shaping: Translating business pain points into clear technical requirements and success criteria for Digital Finance.

  • Solution Testing: Supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and acting as the "voice of the user" to manage rollout readiness.

  • Digital Upskilling: Serving as a peer-to-peer resource to drive digital literacy across CG, enabling training for tools such as Alteryx, Tableau, SAC, and AI Agents.

  • Use Case Pipeline: Proactively identifying and proposing digital/AI use cases based on deep process knowledge within the Controllers function.
     

PMO Support:

  • Project Tracking: Supporting the PMO Lead in tracking action items and milestones for the RSS Evolution and ASPIRE projects.

  • SAST Analysis: Engaging Genentech Finance to identify SAST (Simplify, Automate, Standardize, and Transfer) opportunities to optimize functional efficiency.

  • RSS Transfers: Support co-ordination of work package transfers from Genentech to RSS, validating suitability and working with RSS team to ensure capacity and capabilities are in place to accept processes.

  • Local Alignment: Liaising with RSS Collaboration & Process Governance team in Controllers Group to ensure that new and ongoing day-to-day issues are being incorporated into the wider RSS Evolution program.
     

Who you are:

SE6 or SE7 ( One position but two possible levels based on skills and qualifications).

*SE6 Level -skills and qualifications:

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5+ years of related/relevant experience

  • Technical Fluency: Proactive interest in emerging technologies (GenAI, RPA, Advanced Analytics).

  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to translate complex manual "grunt work" into structured digital requirements.

  • Adaptability: Comfortable with a federated model where 50%-70% of capacity is dedicated to digital projects.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California is between $111,800-$207,600

*SE7 Level -skills and qualifications:

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 8+ years of related/relevant experience

  • Technical Fluency: Proactive interest in emerging technologies (GenAI, RPA, Advanced Analytics).

  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to translate complex manual "grunt work" into structured digital requirements.

  • Adaptability: Comfortable with a federated model where 50%-70% of capacity is dedicated to digital projects.

Relocation benefits are not available for this job posting.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California is between $136,100-$252,700.  Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.  A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance.  This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
