About the opportunity:
This is a high-impact leadership role at a critical inflection point in Egen’s growth journey. The Controller will report directly to the CFO and work closely with senior executives to lead core accounting operations, establish scalable processes, and support strategic initiatives, including international expansion, new service lines, and integration activities.
As Egen matures into a more complex, multi-entity, multi-location organization with global delivery, our financial infrastructure must evolve in step. The Controller will be instrumental in professionalizing and future-proofing the function—bringing rigor, visibility, and operational discipline to how we manage financial performance. This is a role for a builder: someone who thrives on creating clarity from complexity and elevating finance into a true business partner.

Responsibilities:

  • Own and lead all day-to-day accounting functions, including general ledger, monthly close, consolidation, financial reporting, and compliance
  • Establish and refine scalable processes and internal controls to support a growing, global services business
  • Manage external audits, tax filings, and compliance matters in partnership with third-party providers
  • Build and lead a high-performing accounting team, providing mentorship and development while driving accountability
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with FP&A, legal, HR, operations, and delivery to ensure financial accuracy and alignment
  • Support the integration of acquisitions, including systems, policies, and reporting standards
  • Contribute to ERP implementation and automation efforts that drive efficiency and real-time visibility
  • Serve as a strategic thought partner to the CFO and the FP&A team, bringing insights, solutions, and financial leadership to key initiatives

Success Profile

  • This role is ideal for a rising finance leader who combines strong technical accounting depth with the agility and mindset of a modern business operator. Success will look like:
  • A builder's mentality, not just maintaining processes but improving and scaling them with greater efficiency. Egen is a data-first AI company; therefore, we need a leader who will implement scalable processes that transpire the same spirit
  • A hands-on leader who can both dig into the details and operate at the strategic level
  • Proven ability to improve the accounting system in order to create systematic cube reporting for greater accountability throughout the organization
  • Maintain, evolve, and change financial controls across the sales-to-cash processes with a balance that maintains the organization's agility and its entrepreneurial DNA
  • A clear communicator who makes finance accessible and actionable across the business
  • A calm, credible presence in fast-paced, high-growth, and sometimes ambiguous environments
  • A collaborator who thrives in a culture of curiosity, excellence, and teamwork

Basic Qualifications:

  • CPA strongly preferred; Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance required
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting leadership experience, ideally in technology consulting, professional services, or SaaS
  • Deep understanding of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls
  • Familiarity with global operations, intercompany transactions, and currency considerations
  • Demonstrated success optimizing financial systems. Certinia expertise is preferred but a solid track record with other ERP systems is important
  • Good understanding of purchase price allocation accounting (M&A)
  • Experience managing audits, tax compliance, and multi-entity consolidations
  • Proven ability to manage, mentor, and scale accounting teams across different geographies (US and India)

Compensation & Benefits:

This role is eligible for our competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package to support your well-being:
- Comprehensive Health Insurance
- Paid Leave (Vacation/PTO)
- Paid Holidays
- Sick Leave
- Parental Leave
- Bereavement Leave
- 401 (k) Employer Match
- Employee Referral Bonuses
