Who We Are

🏔Product: TLDR is the largest network of tech newsletters in the world, with over 7M subscribers covering everything from startups and software engineering to AI, cybersecurity, product, and more. Every issue is written by builders in tech. Both TLDR Crypto writers both work at Coinbase, TLDR Dev is written by engineers from DeepMind and Meta, TLDR AI is written by researchers from Anthropic and Adobe. That’s why TLDR is the best way to stay current on what truly matters in tech.

💪Team: Our 24-person full time team includes alumni of TikTok, Business Insider, Morning Brew, and other top media brands.

📈Traction: We doubled our revenue from 2024 to 2025 and are looking to double revenue again in 2026. We are supported by advertisers who want to reach tech’s decision makers, including AWS, Google Cloud, Anthropic, Slack, Notion, and GitHub.

About the Role

In this role, you will:

  • Write persuasive, high-converting ad copy for our sponsors that aligns with their goals and TLDR’s editorial tone.

  • Partner with our sales and marketing teams to refine and improve outbound templates, follow-up emails, and pitch decks.

  • Write and optimize paid ad copy across platforms (Meta, LinkedIn, newsletter sponsorships, etc.) to boost CTRs and conversion rates.

  • Craft and test landing page copy that drives measurable conversions (ie. leads)

  • Develop and maintain TLDR’s voice, tone and messaging across all channels.

  • Use data and testing to continually refine messaging for better engagement and outcomes.

What Success Looks Like
  • Sponsor copy meets or exceeds expectations while reducing average turnaround time to 1-2 days

  • Increase in average sponsor CTRs

  • Improved conversion rates across paid ads, landing pages, and sales emails

  • Unifying and building a playbook on TLDR’s voice, tone and messaging across all sales and marketing channels

About You
  • 3+ years of experience writing conversion-focused copy across multiple formats: email, landing pages, and paid social ads

  • Must have a portfolio of conversion-driven copy (ideally includes results)

  • Primary skills:

    • Used to working at lean teams and having a high degree of ownership

    • Understand conversion psychology (pain points, value propositions, CTAs) and have the ability to apply it

    • Comfortable with iterative testing and using performance data to refine copy.

    • Marketing to marketers is a plus (especially demand gen/performance marketers)

  • Secondary skills:

    • Excellent communicator; thrives in fast-paced, autonomous environments

    • Clear, persuasive writing with a direct-response mindset.

    • Strong attention to detail (grammar, tone consistency, brand voice), and ability to adapt tone for different audiences (e.g., tech marketers, developers, founders, etc.)).

You’re Not a Fit If You…
  • If the majority of your experience is long-form editorial writing, this would be a negative. We are looking for someone that can write direct, conversion-focused copy.

  • Do not have a portfolio to share
