Position Overview

The Vice President of People Resources & Development serves as the senior-most HR leader for 24Seven Hotels, responsible for shaping and executing the company’s overall people strategy across corporate and property-level operations.

This role blends strategic leadership and hands-on execution, overseeing all HR functions including talent acquisition, employee relations, leadership development, compliance, payroll, benefits, and culture initiatives.

As a key member of the executive team, this leader will partner closely with the President/CEO, ownership groups, and hotel leadership to build scalable people programs that drive performance, engagement, and retention across a multi-property portfolio.

 

Key Responsibilities

People Strategy & Executive Leadership

  • As VP of People Recourses & Development you will serve as the senior HR advisor to executive leadership, ownership groups, and General Managers
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive People & Culture strategy aligned with business objectives in compensation, labor relations and compliance.
  • Drive organizational design, talent strategy, culture building and succession planning across the portfolio
  • Lead and mentor the People Resources & Development team while building a high-performing HR function


HR Operations & Business Partnership

  • Oversee all HR operations across corporate and hotel teams, ensuring consistency and scalability
  • Partner with General Managers and regional leaders as the primary HR business partner
  • Provide expert guidance on employee relations, performance management, and leadership effectiveness
  • Ensure standardized HR practices and operational excellence across all properties


Talent Acquisition & Workforce Development

  • Lead enterprise-wide recruiting strategy, including leadership hiring for General Managers and key roles
  • Oversee employer branding and pipeline development within the hospitality industry
  • Design and implement structured onboarding programs and leadership development pathways
  • Drive succession planning and internal career growth initiatives


Culture, Engagement & Leadership Development

  • Champion and evolve 24Seven Hotels’ “People First” culture throughout the organization
  • Lead employee engagement strategies, surveys, and action planning
  • Develop programs that increase retention, recognition, and employee satisfaction
  • Build leadership capability through coaching, training, and development initiatives

Payroll, Benefits & Total Rewards

  • Oversee payroll operations ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across multiple locations
  • Manage benefits programs including health, retirement, and ancillary offerings
  • Continuously evaluate and enhance total rewards to remain competitive


Compliance, Risk Management & Labor Relations

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, with deep expertise in California labor regulations, along with (AZ, CO, ID and WA)
  • Oversee workers’ compensation programs, claim management, and return-to-work strategies
  • Guide audits, investigations, and legal matters in partnership with internal and external stakeholders
  • Mitigate risk through proactive policies and training

Learning, Development & Performance Management

  • Lead company-wide training initiatives and performance review frameworks
  • Implement leadership development programs for General Managers and emerging leaders
  • Ensure alignment between performance management systems and business goals

Leadership & Team Oversight

  • Lead a team that may include: 
    • Director / Senior HR Leaders
    • Recruiting & Onboarding Manager
    • HR Generalists / Administrators
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement


Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, preferably in hospitality or multi-location environments
  • Proven success leading enterprise HR strategy and operations
  • Deep knowledge of California labor laws and multi-state compliance
  • Experience overseeing recruiting, onboarding, leadership development, and HR systems
  • Strong executive presence with experience partnering with C-level leadership and ownership groups
