Rockstar is an industry-leading company based in Arizona that helps businesses across multiple industries streamline operations by offloading administrative, creative, and technical tasks to skilled remote professionals.

Rockstar is recruiting on behalf of our client, an established US-based company, for a full-time Corporate Bookkeeper. Rockstar's role is limited to sourcing and screening candidates. The selected candidate will be hired, paid, and managed directly by the client and will not be employed by Rockstar.

This role owns the day-to-day books, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and month-end close support. If you have kept the books for an operating company with steady transaction volume, many vendors and customers, and firm month-end deadlines, this role is for you.

Responsibilities
Accounts Payable
  • Receive, review, and code vendor bills to the correct GL accounts
  • Match invoices to purchase orders and receipts before approval
  • Schedule and process vendor payments based on terms and cash priorities
  • Maintain vendor records, collect W-9s, and track 1099 vendors
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve billing discrepancies
  • Review and categorize company card transactions and employee expense reports
Accounts Receivable
  • Create and send accurate customer invoices on schedule
  • Record and apply customer payments and deposits
  • Monitor the AR aging report and follow up on past-due accounts by email and phone
  • Issue credit memos and process adjustments
  • Answer customer billing questions and maintain customer records
General Ledger & Month-End Close
  • Reconcile all bank, credit card, and loan accounts every month
  • Post journal entries, including accruals, prepaid expenses, and depreciation
  • Support month-end close and meet close deadlines
  • Prepare AP and AR aging reports, cash position summaries, and draft financial statements
  • Keep the chart of accounts clean and organized
  • Support the outside CPA with year-end close, tax prep, 1099 filing, and audit requests
Tools & Systems

Experience with one or more of the following:

  • Accounting software: QuickBooks Online, Xero, NetSuite, or Sage Intacct
  • AP and bill pay: Bill.com or Melio
  • Expense management: Ramp, Expensify, or Brex
  • Payment processing: Stripe, PayPal, or Square
  • Spreadsheets: Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets
  • Communication: Google Workspace or Microsoft 365, Slack, and Zoom

Requirements
  • 3+ years of full-cycle bookkeeping experience, with at least 2 years supporting a US-based company
  • Hands-on experience running both AP and AR
  • Strong experience with at least one major accounting platform, such as QuickBooks Online, Xero, or NetSuite
  • Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills, including pivot tables and XLOOKUP or VLOOKUP
  • Working knowledge of US GAAP and accrual-based accounting
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
  • Degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent experience
  • Reliable high-speed internet, a backup connection and power source, and a quiet workspace
What We're Looking For
  • Ownership mindset. You keep the books current without being chased.
  • Accuracy you can prove. Your reconciliations tie out every month.
  • Discretion with sensitive financial information
  • Confidence calling US customers about overdue balances
  • Comfort working independently in a remote environment
  • Commitment to consistent communication with the client and team

Benefits
  • Full-time, long-term remote position working directly for the client company
  • Competitive hourly pay based on experience and location
  • Direct working relationship with company leadership and their outside CPA
  • Full ownership of the books for an established company, not a narrow piece of the process
  • Hands-on experience with month-end close, year-end close, and audit support
  • Consistent schedule aligned with US business hours
