This role will focus on driving Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) at a corporate level for Revvity and lead EHS compliance and initiatives at the BioLegend San Diego, CA site.   Allocation of time is estimated as 50% site EHS leadership and 50% corporate EHS management.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive corporate and regional EHS programs, policies, and SOPs that align with organizational goals and regulatory requirements, driving compliance, risk reduction, and continuous improvement across laboratory, manufacturing, commercial and administrative operations.
  • Provide strategic direction and support EHS teams companywide through consistent communication, training, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure effective program execution and a strong safety culture while communicating key risks and resource needs to leadership
  • Design, facilitate, and support sites and teams in identifying and implementing change initiatives that improve EHS across the organization.
  • Establish, monitor, and report EHS KPIs and ESG metrics to leadership, providing insights that drive data-driven decisions and continuous improvement, while facilitating operating rhythms for EHS programs to keep teams aligned, on schedule, and informed on progress. Coordinate project schedules, monitor budgets, and assign tasks to ensure timely and effective program execution.
  • Manage hazardous materials and waste processes, including chemical analysis in accordance with GHS, DOT, and IATA regulations. Oversee hazardous waste pick-ups, manifests, and waste stream profiles to ensure cradle-to-grave compliance and proper documentation.
  • Oversee Safety Data Sheet (SDS) authoring, assessment, and compliance reviews; provide expertise on domestic and international hazardous materials shipping and classification.
  • Conduct regular safety assessments across laboratories, production areas, and offices, including ergonomic evaluations and industrial hygiene sampling, to identify and mitigate potential hazards. Lead Safety Committee meetings, coordinate incident and near-miss investigations using root cause analysis and track corrective actions to completion.
  • Maintain all required environmental, safety, and fire prevention permits and certifications. Serve as liaison with regulatory agencies (e.g., CAL/OSHA, OSHA, EPA, DOT) during inspections, audits, and permit renewals.
  • Manage specialized safety programs including Lockout/Tagout, high/low voltage safety, machine guarding, and HAZWOPER emergency response protocols, ensuring employee training, compliance, and readiness.
  • Champion a proactive EHS culture by engaging employees at all levels, identifying and sharing best practices across sites, driving continuous improvement, and promoting operational excellence and sustainability.
  • 15-20% Travel

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 7+ years of professional experience in EHS, including managing corporate initiatives or program roll-out / projects management.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience program managing multiple complex projects across cross-functional, global teams
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • This position will collaborate with stakeholders globally and may be required to support projects/priorities/meetings during non-standard working hours
  • Passion for the areas of EHS and ready to make an impact
  • Demonstrated ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment, working on multiple projects with dynamic priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to lead and participate in cross-functional project teams in a matrixed environment while maintaining positive and productive working relationships across a broad range of people and groups
  • Ability to problem solve a variety of issues with key stakeholders
  • Change leader with an insatiable curiosity for driving organizational impact.
  • Advanced knowledge in SW tools for collaboration and project management
  • Ability to influence without having direct line management responsibility
  • Creative/curious/lateral thinking mindset
  • LEAN Six Sigma Green or Black Belt
  • Proven self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision; self-managed and self-motivated
  • Ability to manage priorities and stay on top of critical responsibilities
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite of products, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook

The base salary range for this full-time position is $113,500-$142,000/year. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for a new hire in this position. The base pay actually offered to the successful candidate will take into account internal equity, work location, and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process. 

Please note that base pay is only one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This range allows for the successful candidate to have an opportunity to progress within the position and develop at our company. This base pay range does not take into account bonuses, equity, or other benefits which may be applicable and are dependent on the level and position offered.
