The Country P&O Business Partner will act as a trusted advisor offering in-country policy expertise and knowledge to support and educate leaders, managers and associates on all P&O topics during key moments that matter. The role supports all unit customer groups in-country, enabling the delivery of lifecycle events, the employee value proposition, talent acquisition, talent management, learning, performance management, employee relations, rewards, pay and reporting. In addition, the role implements P&O change initiatives at country level, acting as a detailed designer and agent of change by working with Business Partners. The Country P&O Business Partner acts as a single point of contact within the country to align on People Partner-related issues, above-country topics and the coordination of country team members.
This is a temporary position based in Basel, Switzerland, until 31 December 2027.
Your Key Responsibilities:
Your responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Partner with and coach managers and associates on People-related processes and moments that matter, providing credible advice and guidance across P&O topics.
- Drive P&O initiatives in support of the overall P&O strategy, including Diversity, Equity & Inclusion initiatives, culture and corporate initiatives, and coach people managers on role evaluations in line with local governance.
- Promote inclusion and psychological safety, support new hire onboarding initiatives and drive D&I efforts in alignment with global and local initiatives.
- Drive the utilization of data and analytics to identify risks and trends and apply business insights to inform decisions and actions.
- Drive quality, effectiveness, efficiency and continuous improvement across P&O People Partnering and related processes, using customer feedback to identify and implement enhancements that meet business and customer needs.
- Ensure compliance with local equity and Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) regulations and act as a first point of escalation for leaders and managers on day-to-day P&O topics, providing expert advice, guidance and support.
- Lead the delivery of in-country transformations providing advice and guidance to managers and supporting the overall restructuring lifecycle.
- Lead the local implementation of large-scale and day-to-day organizational structure changes in line with country regulations and policies.
- Support the alignment and harmonization of local regulations and contribute to compliance, risk management and the review of relevant P&O controls.
- Manage internal movement offers and mobility.
- Contribute ideas and solutions to the wider P&O network, collaborating closely with Country Business Partners, Global Business Partners and other P&O stakeholders.
- Provide coaching and guidance to Country P&O Business Partners on local policies and processes and build strong relationships across the P&O community to understand needs and challenges and drive continuous improvement.
- Support and coach leaders, managers and associates across P&O topics, promoting greater self-sufficiency in People processes.
- Provide support in-country where there is no dedicated Talent Acquisition presence, as required.
What you’ll bring to the role:
Essential and Desirable Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field.
- 5-7 years of relevant experience in Human Resources, preferably in an HR/P&O Business Partner, People Partner or HR Generalist role within an international environment.
- Fluent English, both written and spoken, is required. German language skills are desirable.
- Broad functional experience and the ability to work effectively across different P&O/HR areas.
- Experience leading and working with large and/or diverse multi-functional teams.
- Strong project management capabilities, with experience in operations management and execution.
- Experience representing the organization and collaborating effectively across organizational and functional boundaries.
- Strong business acumen, with the ability to connect different perspectives and translate business needs into effective people solutions.
- Experience in change implementation, coaching and influencing stakeholders at different levels.
- Strong knowledge of employee lifecycle management, employee relations and engagement, and performance management.
- Ability to leverage data analysis and reporting to generate insights and support decision-making.
- Strong stakeholder management and matrix collaboration skills.
- Strong focus on operational excellence, combined with empathy and resilience.
