Own end-to-end commercial insurance sales from first conversation to bound policy, using an in-house AI platform for coverage analysis and automated submission packages. Drive relationships and client advisory while leveraging automation to accelerate submissions and reduce manual work. Collaborate with engineering to improve tools, scale a book of business, and contribute to company culture and operations as an early hire.
The summary above was generated by AI
At Coverwatch we are building the next-generation AI-native commercial insurance broker. Commercial insurance is a $1T market where the core work still runs on email, PDFs, spreadsheets, and manual labor. It's the next industry that will be completely rewritten by AI.

We’re a team of 2nd time founders (ex-YC, Pear VC) who previously built a tech-enabled services company, and worked at companies like Google and Goldman Sachs. We're backed by top investors and a group of insurance founders and operators.

The Role

You will be responsible for owning end-to-end insurance sales directly with customers. From first conversation to bound policy.

However, this will be different from any other producer role. You will have access to our rapidly improving in-house AI platform for coverage analysis and policy placement - the tools at your disposal will enable you to build a book 5-10x larger than at a traditional brokerage.

We’ve even had wholesale brokers tell us our submission packets are so clean “underwriters that typically send me questions on every application don’t even ask any in your applications”.

You will have:
  • Deeply refined coverage analysis reports, informed by industry experts
  • End-to-end automated submission packages (Acords, supplementals, web portals)
  • Automated followups to insureds for additional information and underwriters for submission updates

Our process enables us to do 2-day turnarounds when industry norm can be 2-4 weeks. You will focus your time on relationships and client advisory not chasing submissions and ACORDS.

As an early producer in the team you will also have a say on the future of the company culture and operations. We are highly collaborative and you’ll have a team of very experienced engineers at your disposal to improve the tools you use every day.

💰 Compensation

We don't run the traditional 40/20 commercial broker model. The math doesn't work for either of us. We run AE-style ramped comp:

  • $80K to $120K base depending on experience
  • Uncapped commission on new business
  • Year-1 OTE $150K to $250K, no cap
  • Founding-hire equity

📈 Career path

Sell for the first 6 months and prove the motion. Then it's your call: keep producing and build a real book (books scale 5 to 10x past incumbent benchmarks here), move into operations, or lead the next class of producers we hire.

💡 Who we're looking for

Hungry, driven, and with a natural ability to sell and support our customers in critical business decisions. We're open to a wide range of backgrounds:

  • Commercial insurance producers with 2-5 years of experience who can see traditional retail getting rewritten without them
  • 2-3 years high-velocity SMB or B2C sales, any industry (SDRs, AEs, mortgage, real estate, anyone who's lived on the phone)
  • Zero sales experience but a track record of being a machine. Relentless, organized, low-ego, picks things up fast

P&C license is nice to have - you can also get it on the job and we'll fund it.

🦖 Why now

You can spend another 5 years at HUB, Marsh, or Lockton watching the industry get rewritten by AI. Or you can be on the team doing the rewriting. The producers who join Coverwatch in 2026 are the founders, GMs, and VPs of this company in 2028.

Compensation
The base pay range for this role is $80,000 – $120,000 per year.

Key Facts About San Francisco Tech

  • Major Tech Employers: Google, Apple, Salesforce, Meta
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, fintech, consumer technology, software
  • Funding Landscape: $50.5 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
