General Responsibilities
Gathering, collating, and analyzing data of cow comfort measures on dairy farms, using lying time, lameness, and management metrics, and sharing these back to sales managers, customers and industry professionals.
• Responsible for field implementation of the Novus C.O.W.S. program in Western region of US, in collaboration with other members of the C.O.W.S. team.
• Provide technical assistance with cow comfort field work and research, including analysis of qualitative and quantitative data, and presenting at customer and industry events.
• This individual will also be expected to have strong knowledge of the Novus Ruminant product line and support joint sales strategies combining C.O.W.S. with product propositions.
• Support sales of ruminant products in collaboration with Novus Sales managers through leveraging C.O.W.S. service.
• Build customer relationships and share industry knowledge to help customers, farmers and cattle. Provide marketing intelligence, proactively sharing unique tools and taking responsibility for personal development.
• Participate events such as trade shows, conferences, symposiums, customer trips, customer meetings and internal meetings.
• Adhere to the Novus Management System (NMS), Novus Integrity System (NIS) and all policies and procedures related to position assignment.

General Guidance for Key Knowledge/Skills/ Experience
• Masters of Science or equivalent in animal sciences, marketing, business or related area.
• Knowledge and understanding of the US ruminant market.
• Initiative to make sure Novus’ resources are properly used to achieve maximum potential.
• Team player to work with sales managers, technical support resources, marketing, and other team members.
• Analytical skills to quantify practical business strategies and solutions to customer needs.
• Interpersonal skills to build relationships as part of a cross-functional team.
• Ability to work independently and with others.
• Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner.
• Accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage project database and paperwork.
• Ability to interact with dairymen and nutritionists in a comfortable and professional way.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Computer skills (Microsoft Office, SAS).

Other Essential Requirements
• Fluent English.
• Spanish is a Plus.
• Must be licensed, insurable and able to drive a motor vehicle.
• Must be able to travel 3-5 days per week, 3 out of 4 weeks per month. Most is by company car, with some by air.
