🎨 About OpenArt

OpenArt is a leading AI Creative Platform for visual storytelling, used by millions worldwide. We're building the next generation of creative tools powered by cutting-edge AI, enabling anyone to create videos, images, visuals, characters, and stories with unprecedented speed and imagination. We're bringing those tools together into one agentic creative environment: it understands what you mean, orchestrates the right capabilities, and still leaves you in full control of the work. We believe the future of creativity is AI-native, and we're shaping that future.

🎯 About the Role

We're building tools that expand what's creatively possible — and, increasingly, an agent that does the work: it understands what a creator wants, picks the right models and tools, runs the job, and hands back something they can see, adjust, and finish. For that to hold up in professional production, the agent has to know the work from the inside.

That's where you come in. We need someone who sits between creators and product to turn real pain points in professional workflows into solutions that run and can be proven. If you know professional creative production from the inside and you're used to building your own ideas into interactive prototypes with AI, this might be your seat.

We're not just looking for someone who makes demos. We're looking for someone who finds the problem, researches the workflow, delivers the prototype end to end, makes the case for it, and then hands it to engineering to ship.

🚀 Why Join OpenArt
  • Your prototypes become products. What you build won't stop at a demo. Validated prototypes go straight onto the product roadmap and are taken to launch by engineering.

  • Work at the frontier of AI and creativity. You'll be among the first to get hands-on with new models and capabilities, and as a practitioner, you'll decide what shape they take inside creators' workflows — and what the agent should do with them on a creator's behalf.

  • Direct impact on product direction. Your judgment won't sit in a review queue. From identifying problems to validating prototypes, you'll directly shape what OpenArt builds next.

  • Hyper-growth and huge market opportunity. OpenArt is one of the largest AI video generation platforms globally, with millions of monthly active users and partnerships with top model players including Google, OpenAI, Anthropic, BytePlus, and Kling.

  • Define where creative tools go next. Generation gets cheaper every month; what creators and clients pay for is finished work. An agent that does the whole job is where the category is heading, and the person who knows production from the inside is the one who decides what it does.

🧩 Requirements
  • ndependently takeFluency in professional creative pipelines. Hands-on experience in professional creative production such as advertising, film, or content. You understand every stage from brief to delivery and can pinpoint where the real bottlenecks are.

  • Moves fluidly between design and engineering. AI is your core tool for building. You're proficient with AI coding tools, model APIs, agent frameworks, and lightweight code, and can independently turn concepts into working prototypes fast.

  • End-to-end delivery. You can i work from problem definition and workflow research through interaction design, visual design, and a usable prototype, delivered to a standard professional users can work with directly.

  • Strong product taste. You hold a high bar for craft, polish, and interaction quality, and you know the difference between something that works and something that works well.

  • A body of work that proves it. A portfolio or GitHub showing the tools, prototypes, products, or experiments you've built. We care far more about what you've made than where you've worked.

🌟 Nice to Have
  • Proficiency with professional creative tools. Editing, compositing, motion, or 3D tools. You don't just know how to use them; you know where they fall short on real projects.

  • Background in advertising, film, or content production. You've felt the pressure of professional production firsthand and know what clients and teams actually need before a deadline.

  • Experience at a creative lab, innovation agency, or AI product team. You're comfortable moving through ambiguity and turning new technology into something concrete and usable.

  • You've built with agents. Tool-calling, MCP, skills, or your own automations — anything where the AI did part of the job for you, and you learned where it should and shouldn't be trusted.

🛠 What You'll Do
  • Identify where workflows break. Embed in the real production work of our in-house creative team and enterprise clients to pinpoint bottlenecks — and the places where an agent doing the work first would change what a team can ship.

  • Teach the agent the job. Turn what you learn into workflows the agent can run end to end — a brief into a set of finished ad variants, one video into ten languages, a winning ad into every placement size — and define what "done to a professional standard" means for each, so what comes back is usable without a second pass.

  • Turn complex generative workflows into intuitive experiences. As models and workflows grow more capable and more complex, decide what the agent should simply handle and where a professional needs to step in to see, adjust, and finish — so creators stay in control of the work instead of waiting on a black box.

  • Rapidly prototype new concepts. Use AI tools, Figma, lightweight code, and APIs to explore interaction patterns and validate ideas, taking them from early concept to polished interface, including motion, transitions, and micro-interactions.

  • Define what each prototype needs to prove. Before each prototype, be clear on the hypothesis it's testing. After, assess what was learned and make a clear call: scale, iterate, or stop.

  • Drive from concept to launch. Work closely with product, model, and engineering teams to turn validated prototypes into shipped features, and build up reusable components and interaction patterns along the way, so the next workflow reaches creators faster.

💰 Compensation
  • Competitive TC including base salary, bonus, and equity (based on experience).

  • Meaningful equity ownership in what you build.

🌍 Work Setup
  • San Carlos, CA (full-time, on-site or hybrid)
