Credit Systems and Strategy Manager
The Credit Systems and Strategy Manager will lead the modernization of Aqua Finance’s credit decisioning platforms, supporting the transition from legacy systems to scalable, automated solutions. In this role, you will translate credit policies and workflows into system configurations that ensure accurate, compliant, and efficient decisioning. Partnering across credit, product, operations, data, and engineering teams, you will drive platform enhancements, improve automation, and support ongoing system administration. This position plays a key role in strengthening credit infrastructure, optimizing performance, and enabling scalable growth.
Essential Functions
Develop and execute credit technology and transformation roadmaps aligned with business objectives, growth, and risk appetite.
Migrate credit workflows from legacy systems to automated decisioning platforms and translate credit policies into system-based rules.
Lead initiatives to improve profitability, fraud prevention, operational efficiency, and decision quality.
Modernize credit infrastructure through automation, AI, and advanced analytics, to improve scalability, speed, and decision quality.
Support deployment, validation, parallel and retro testing, and optimization of credit risk, fraud, and pricing models.
Partner with Risk, Analytics, Engineering, and third-party vendors to implement, validate, monitor, and enhance credit strategies and technologies.
Manage UAT, deployment readiness, post-implementation monitoring, and legacy system decommissioning.
Configure and maintain decision rules, workflows, score thresholds, and third-party data integrations.
Monitor system performance, portfolio KPIs (including approval rates, decline trends, and turnaround times), policy compliance, and model outcomes; identify decision discrepancies and implement process and strategy improvements.
Maintain system documentation, testing results, and change management records, and support governance of AI and decisioning models.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelors degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or STEM field, or commensurate work experience, required
5 years of experience in credit administration, lending operations or fintech risk platforms
Financial industry experience preferred
Advanced Excel and SQL skills and familiarity with reporting tools, such as Power BI, preferred.
Attention to detail and accuracy required
Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
Proficient in the utilization of Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to thrive in a fast paced work environment
Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, visualize, talk, hear, and handle or touch objects or controls. The employee may occasionally lift, push, or pull up to 20 pounds.
This position is an office-based position where you must be able to sit for long periods of time. The employee will be working on a computer 90% of the time.
