Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Technology Officer will serve as the architect and driving force behind Salma Health’s precision psychiatry technology platform. This executive leader will define and execute the company’s end-to-end technology vision, spanning engineering, AI, data, and product development, to deliver scalable, secure, and intelligent systems that transform complex clinical workflows into seamless experiences for providers and patients.
The CTO will play a central role in shaping how technology, data science, and clinical insight converge to personalize care delivery, accelerate research, and advance Salma Health’s mission. This role requires a hands-on, visionary technologist who balances strategic leadership with execution excellence in a regulated healthcare environment.
Define and execute Salma Health’s end-to-end technology strategy across architecture, product development, data engineering, and AI to power the precision psychiatry platform.
Partner closely with executive, clinical, and product leaders to translate complex clinical needs into scalable, intuitive digital experiences that improve care quality and engagement.
Build secure, interoperable, and compliant systems (HIPAA, SOC 2, GDPR) using modern full-stack and cloud infrastructure.
Establish an AI-first foundation that unifies multi-modal data (clinical, behavioral, genomic, digital biomarkers) to enable predictive modeling, decision intelligence, and personalized care pathways.
Partner with researchers and clinicians to design, deploy, and operationalize machine learning models for treatment prediction, relapse prevention, and care optimization.
Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing technology organization, fostering a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and mission-driven execution.
Represent Salma Health’s technology vision externally with investors, advisors, partners, and at industry events.
Build and sustain a culture of curiosity, ownership, and technical rigor aligned with Salma Health’s mission and values.
10+ years of senior technology leadership experience (e.g., CTO, VP Engineering, Head of AI/Product Engineering).
Proven success building scalable, full-stack platforms, ideally in healthcare, life sciences, or other regulated environments.
Deep understanding of product management and collaboration with design, clinical, and business teams.
Hands-on experience with AI/ML development, data engineering, and modern web/mobile frameworks (e.g., React, Node.js, Python).
Strong grasp of healthcare data standards and regulatory requirements (FHIR, HL7, HIPAA).
Demonstrated ability to align technical execution with business outcomes.
Exceptional communication and leadership skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
Experience operating in high-growth or venture-backed healthcare organizations.
Background in scaling multi-site clinical or healthcare technology platforms.
