As AI reshapes every industry, software and data are becoming the most critical levers for driving competitive advantage and operational efficiency. From disruptive startups to the world’s largest enterprises (70% of the Fortune 100!), organizations are choosing MongoDB to build the next generation of applications. MongoDB is addressing a massive market opportunity — IDC estimates over $100B — and is widely recognized as the leading modern database, empowering millions of developers and tens of thousands of customers globally.

Role Summary

MongoDB is hiring a Customer Advocate, Office of the CEO to support the Chief of Staff to the CEO and the CEO. This is a high-impact opportunity to work directly with the CEO and senior leadership across the company, helping drive MongoDB’s most important customer relationships and operating rhythms.

The primary focus of the role is customer advocacy — ensuring MongoDB’s top customers and partners have exceptional experiences that deepen relationships and accelerate mutual growth. This includes preparing for, joining, and following up on CEO-level customer and partner meetings, working cross-functionally with Sales, Product, and Marketing to ensure the right preparation, alignment, and follow-through.

In addition to this customer-facing work, the Lead will partner closely with the Chief of Staff to drive the company’s core CEO operating rhythm — including Board meetings, earnings, executive offsites, strategic planning, goal tracking, and the weekly executive meeting. The role provides a unique opportunity to learn the inner workings of a fast-scaling company and contribute directly to shaping its strategy and execution.

Role Responsibilities

Customer Advocacy & Engagement

  • Partner with the CEO and Chief of Staff to prepare for high-priority customer and partner meetings — crafting thoughtful briefings, coordinating input from internal stakeholders, and ensuring clear follow-up and accountability
  • Join customer meetings with the CEO and senior executives, acting as an advocate for the customer and a connector between the CEO, Sales, and Product teams
  • Build a deep understanding of MongoDB’s strategic accounts, identifying patterns, opportunities, and challenges that inform company strategy
  • Ensure the CEO’s external engagement reflects MongoDB’s top priorities and amplifies our customer-centric culture

CEO Office Operations & Strategic Initiatives

  • Support the Chief of Staff in driving MongoDB’s operating rhythm, including Board and earnings preparation, executive offsites, KPI and goal tracking, and day-to-day prep and follow-up
  • Surface issues, propose solutions, and drive accountability to commitments from the CEO’s staff and leadership team
  • Provide leverage to the CEO by ensuring the right focus, follow-through, and communication across strategic initiatives
Role Requirements
  • Experience: 3–5 years from top consulting firm
  • Strategic Thinking & Problem Solving: Ability to structure and synthesize ambiguous information into clear insights and actionable recommendations
  • Customer Orientation: Deep empathy for customer needs and the ability to translate those into business outcomes
  • Executive Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proven ability to interact with senior executives and customers with polish and confidence
  • Collaboration & Influence: Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to drive alignment across multiple teams
  • Bias for Action: Thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and has a high sense of urgency to get things done
  • Technical & Market Acumen: Interest in software, AI, and data technology; ability to quickly understand MongoDB’s products and strategy
  • Travel: Frequent travel required to support CEO and customer meetings
