This is a great 12-month fixed term opportunity to join MECCA’s Personalisation Enablement team as our Customer Data Enablement Lead — a senior, hands-on role at the heart of how we turn customer data into richer intelligence and more personalised experiences.

This is a design-and-define role at its core — we’re after someone who can shape solutions and strategy, not just execute against a brief. You’ll lead the strategy and solutioning behind our customer data, connecting loyalty, personalisation and marketing technology to help MECCA understand our customers more deeply. You’ll be just as comfortable writing SQL and getting into the detail as you are shaping the roadmap and influencing stakeholders across Architecture and the broader business.

Leading a team of three Audience Specialists, you’ll balance immediate business needs with building the reusable, scalable foundations that set MECCA up for what’s next, including new opportunities in AI-driven personalisation.

The Role You Could Play

  • Own the strategy and solution design for how MECCA captures, connects and activates customer data across loyalty, personalisation and marketing.
  • Lead and develop a team of three — a Senior Audience Specialist, an Audience Specialist and an Associate — building capability and ensuring the team is set up to deliver.
  • Get hands-on with SQL and our data platforms — including Lumos, our own data warehouse, and Salesforce Marketing Cloud — to analyse datasets and shape segmentation, audiences and customer intelligence.
  • Partner closely with Architecture and Business stakeholders to define solution approaches and lead delivery of customer data initiatives end-to-end.
  • Translate customer, business and personalisation priorities into clear customer data capabilities and requirements.
  • Shape and maintain a forward-looking customer data roadmap, including future opportunities in AI-enabled personalisation.
  • Bring a commercial lens to your work, connecting data capability to Voice of Customer, NPS and broader customer experience outcomes.
  • Champion strong data governance, privacy and responsible use of customer data as MECCA expands its use of predictive and AI-enabled capabilities.

What You Will Bring

  • Strong technical experience, comfortable getting hands-on across data platforms and tools.
  • Experience in customer intelligence, MarTech or related roles, ideally within complex, omnichannel retail or customer-facing environments.
  • 2+ years’ experience working with data warehouse environments (e.g. Snowflake) — you’ll be working closely with our own data warehouse, Lumos, managed by our wider Data team.
  • Strong, hands-on SQL skills for querying and manipulating datasets.
  • Proven solutioning skills — capable of designing and defining end-to-end solutions, not just executing against a brief.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, comfortable working across both Architecture and Business teams.
  • The ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical, business audiences.
  • Genuine commercial acumen — this is a technical and commercial role, not a purely academic or technologist one.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
  • Experience with enterprise data systems (e.g. ERP platforms).
  • Prior experience leading strategy work, ideally in a lead capacity.
  • A data science background is a bonus, but this is a solutioning and strategy role at its core — not a data science position.
  • Experience with Voice of Customer or NPS programs.
  • Familiarity with AI-enabled personalisation use cases.
