The Role:

As Customer Success Director, you’ll play a pivotal role in building Accelerant’s Captive practice. This is a client-facing role that blends relationship management, operational execution and financial discipline. Once a deal is bound, you’re the person who makes sure it actually happens. You'll own timely execution, making sure reinsurance agreements are signed, trusts and letters of credit are established, cash moves, cessions settle, and the captive has one person to call for finance and operational matters.  The back-end workflow of the Captive practice sits with you, as does the day-to-day operational relationship with captive owners, their brokers and their advisors.  You’ll partner with Legal, Treasury, Operations, Actuarial and Finance to clear obstacles and keep every deal on track from onboarding through renewal. This is an opportunity to make a real mark, working with autonomy, influence and visibility across multiple teams and disciplines.

Responsibilities:

·         Act as the day-to-day point of contact for Accelerant’s active Captive relationships, serving as the client liaison on operational, contractual and collateral matters and owning the operational success of the Captive

·         Partner with Legal to drive reinsurance agreements and program schedules to signature, tracking open comments, managing turnaround with all parties and escalating anything that stalls

·         Own the workflow to get trust accounts and letters of credit established, gathering the counterparty information and documentation Treasury needs and staying on it until the collateral is in place

·         Monitor cash receipts, chase any ceded premium that is past its contractual due date, and drive timely collection of losses and settlement of quarterly cessions

·         Own the onboarding of new Captives end to end, from due diligence and internal approvals through to correct setup in our back-end systems, and support the Operations team in resolving bordereaux queries

·         Act as the main point of contact for our outsourced captive manager, ensuring regulatory requirements are met across domiciles and monitoring the setup of new captive cells

·         Monitor results and unit economics across the portfolio, produce the reporting that shows how each deal is performing, and flag deals that are trending off track

Skills & Qualifications

·         7+ years in insurance or reinsurance in an account management, client service or program operations role, with exposure to captives, fronting arrangements or delegated authority relationships

·         Bachelor's degree in business, finance, risk management or a related field. A CPCU, ARe, ACI or similar professional qualification is a plus

·         Familiarity with reinsurance structures and their accounting implications

·         Relentless follow-through. This is someone who notices that an agreement is unsigned, a trust is unfunded or cash has not moved, and does not let it sit

·         Excellent communicator who enjoys client contact and can engage credibly with captive owners, brokers and internal stakeholders

·         Builds for scale rather than for the next deal, standardizing and automating manual work so the portfolio can grow without adding headcount

Preferred Experience

·         Experience in a broker, captive, or MGA account management role, or a comparable client-facing servicing role in specialty insurance

·         Hands-on experience with collateral mechanics, including Regulation 114 trusts, letters of credit and Schedule F implications

·         Experience working through captive domicile requirements and cell formations, including alongside an outsourced captive manager

·         Experience leading cross-functional projects across Legal, Treasury, Operations and Finance, and influencing senior stakeholders

·         Track record of identifying and implementing process or performance improvements in a fast-growing, technology-led environment
