beehiiv is the all-in-one newsletter and creator platform powering the next generation of media companies and independent voices. We help creators and businesses launch, grow, and monetize newsletters, now serving tens of thousands of publishers and reaching hundreds of millions of readers monthly. With $30M+ ARR (annual recurring revenue), 100% YoY (year-over-year) growth, and a newly expanded product suite (ad network, website builder, paid tiers), we're entering our next phase of hypergrowth.

beehiiv's Ad Network connects thousands of newsletter publishers with advertisers across every major vertical. We're seeking a Customer Success Manager (CSM) to own post-sale onboarding, campaign execution, and long-term growth for advertisers on the beehiiv Ad Network. You'll partner closely with Sales and Network Performance to ensure every advertiser launches successfully, achieves strong results, and renews consistently.

This is a hands-on, individual-contributor role. You'll carry a book of business and a revenue number, own accounts end-to-end, bring solutions rather than problems, and use data and automation to scale your own output. Please note the compensation is dependent on experience.

Ideally, you'll have

  • 3-5 years of Customer Success experience, ideally within an ad network, media platform, or digital advertising environment
  • Experience with advertiser onboarding, campaign setup, and coordination
  • Proven ability to manage advertiser relationships and deliver strong client outcomes
  • Experience building and managing a robust book of business, driving performance through operational rigor and sales acumen
  • Comfort working AI-native: you reach for AI tools and automation to move faster, not just for one-off reports
  • Hands-on CRM experience, preferably HubSpot
  • Excellent communication, listening, writing, and time-management skills
  • Comfort working cross-functionally with sales, performance, and product teams
  • A track record of solving client issues quickly and thoughtfully
  • Strong organizational chops: able to juggle multiple accounts and priorities

Key attributes

  • An ownership mentality with a bias toward action and proactive communication
  • Empathetic, thoughtful communicator who knows how to build trust
  • Process-oriented and detail-obsessed, no loose ends
  • Strategic partner who can connect insights to measurable outcomes
  • Calm under pressure and able to manage multiple campaigns at once
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and fast-changing advertiser needs
  • Technical curiosity and self-sufficiency: you figure things out and build what you need

What you'll be responsible for:

Accounts & revenue

  • Own onboarding and campaign setup coordination for new advertisers
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for day-to-day advertiser communication
  • Carry a book of business and a personal revenue number tied to retention, renewals, and upsells
  • Develop account strategies tied to performance data, new product launches, and advertisers best positioned to scale spend
  • Identify upsell opportunities and grow your accounts predictably and efficiently

Campaign execution & performance

  • Monitor campaign performance daily and escalate issues to the Network Performance team as needed
  • Partner with Network Performance to build and implement advertiser-specific optimizations
  • Build reporting decks, insights, and proactive updates throughout each campaign
  • Lead end-of-flight reviews, present results, and tee up renewal conversations

Operating rigor

  • Hold a high bar for SLA (service level agreement) compliance, CRM (customer relationship management) hygiene, and client communication standards. These are the baseline, not suggestions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and pipeline visibility to ensure seamless handoffs
  • Reduce escalations through proactive communication and tight campaign management

Product fluency & leverage

  • Understand how beehiiv's ad products work well enough to speak credibly to advertisers about measurement, attribution, and performance
  • Use AI tools, automation, and dashboards to multiply your output without adding headcount. You use tools like Claude to speed up analysis, build reports, and automate the repetitive parts of the job.
  • Be technical enough to build your own solutions when they don't exist, whether that's a recurring workflow, a tracking tool, or a client-facing resource, rather than waiting for eng or ops
  • Flag where product gaps or platform limitations create friction, and advocate clearly for what needs to change

Why this role might be for you:

  • Join a fast-growing startup and a new team
  • High impact and high visibility
  • You're autonomous and excited about owning accounts end-to-end
  • Excited about new challenges and executing creative solutions

This role is probably not for you if...

  • You're looking for a pure sales role or a pure relationship-management role. This is neither.
  • You expect a large support org around you to handle execution
  • You surface problems without bringing solutions
  • You move slowly, or you treat process as optional
  • You need heavy hand-holding to get up to speed on how products work
