Providing leadership and direction to project teams, overseeing project execution ensuring overall program deliverables are met per cost, schedule and scope commitments, proactively handling escalations as necessary to ensure program goals are accomplished and are in line with business objectives.
Continuously and proactively evaluating programs and the projects within them for risks and issues as well as cross-project / cross-program interdependencies, both within their native portfolio as well as across the enterprise. Providing leadership and guidance for effective mitigation strategies and plans, resolving conflicts and providing escalation support when necessary.
Maintaining regular interactions with the executive sponsor and stakeholders.
Leading the development of the overall approach for the program, its major time frames and the definition of its major deliverables to address and meet the desired goals and outcomes.
Maintaining responsibility for controlling program costs, maintaining an accurate forecast and regularly reporting variance against budget.
Developing and maintaining project documentation, work plans, and project deliverables and ensure adherence to enterprise PMO methodologies, processes and tools.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Engineering or a related field.
• 8-12 Years Project Management experience in a large multi-unit organization required. Program management experience required.
• 3-5 years supervisory experience overseeing large scale projects, global teams, project managers, application leads.
• Advanced program management skills in complex IT and business environments, including ability to coordinate multiple teams in various locations and time zones. Deep project management experience managing large-scale, global implementations.
• Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
• Ability to deal with a complex business model in a global environment.
• Project Management certification (e.g., PMP).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain and “sell” the program goals and objectives to the business, as well as technical leadership.
• Influencing and negotiation experience and skills in an environment with high competition for resources
