Title: D365 CE Senior Functional Consultant

Location: Remote

Description

The D365 CE Senior Functional Consultant gathers requirements, documents business processes, configures Dynamics 365 CE and Power Platform capabilities, supports testing and training, and helps clients adopt practical CRM/CX solutions. Senior-level consultants are expected to own defined workstreams with limited oversight and guide junior resources where appropriate.

Core Responsibilities

  • Participate in discovery and design sessions to capture business requirements, current-state process issues, future-state process needs, user stories, acceptance criteria, and configuration decisions.
  • Configure D365 CE and Power Platform features including model-driven apps, tables, forms, views, dashboards, business rules, business process flows, queues, routing, security roles, and basic automation.
  • Support Sales, Customer Service, Field Service, Customer Insights, and related CE/CX capabilities depending on project scope and specialization.
  • Prepare functional design documents, process flows, configuration workbooks, test scripts, training materials, and user adoption content.
  • Maintain requirements traceability from discovery notes to user stories, functional design decisions, configuration workbooks, test scripts, UAT outcomes, and training/adoption materials.
  • Support backlog refinement, sprint demos, CRP/UAT planning, test execution, defect triage, release readiness, go-live support, and hypercare activities.
  • Partner with technical consultants on integrations, data migration, reporting, security, and custom extension requirements.
  • Help clients evaluate standard functionality versus customization and escalate scope, adoption, data, and process risks early.
  • Maintain awareness of Microsoft Copilot, embedded intelligence, Power BI, and automation capabilities that can improve user productivity and customer experience.

Required Skills and Experience

  • 4+ years’ experience implementing or supporting Dynamics 365 Sales, Customer Service, Field Service, Customer Insights, or comparable CRM platforms.
  • Working knowledge of Dataverse, model-driven apps, Power Automate, dashboards, basic reporting, Microsoft 365 integration, and user security concepts.
  • Ability to produce clear documentation, manage assigned work, communicate status, and collaborate effectively with clients and internal teams.
  • Understanding of agile delivery, user stories, acceptance criteria, test management, training, and change/adoption fundamentals.
  • Recommended certifications: PL-200; MB-280, MB-230, MB-240, or relevant CE module certifications preferred.
