As a Data & Reporting Analyst supporting our electric utility client’s IT department, you will develop meaningful data insights and deliver robust reporting solutions that inform strategic decisions. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to gather, analyze, and interpret complex data sets—transforming them into dynamic dashboards and reports in Excel and Power BI. This position offers opportunities to mentor junior consultants, manage small-scale projects, and drive data-informed decision-making within a collaborative environment.
Your Day-to-Day Activities:
· Work with various stakeholders to understand business processes and discover reporting needs for the client.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business requirements, develop data models, and design dashboards and reports.
· Analyze complex data sets from multiple sources based on the business requirements.
· Gather, clean, analyze, and summarize data related to the assigned line of business.
· Build dynamic dashboards in Excel and Power BI to meet client-specific needs.
· Present data/report findings to managers and directors to aid in decision-making.
· Proactively follow up on issues and initiatives for senior leaders to ensure successful resolution and implementation.
· Train and mentor entry- to mid-level consultants.
· Manage projects from start to finish with minimal direction and supervision.
· Create and/or migrate existing reports to Power BI.
· Plan and execute work on small projects, integrating all aspects to ensure progress remains on schedule and aligned with client standards.
· Facilitate problem-solving sessions and workshops with diverse business team members.
The Job Requirements:
· 5+ years of experience in Data Analytics.
· 3+ years of building visualizations in Power BI.
· Advanced level of Excel.
· Strong financial acumen, including budget management, forecasting, and tracking expenses against projections.
· Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects with minimal supervision.
· Must be a California resident; role is based in San Ramon, Bay Area (Hybrid).
You’ll stand out if you have:
· 10+ years of Data Analytics experience.
· 5+ years of Power BI development experience.
· Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
· Experience in electric utilities or related industries.
· Familiarity with project management or consulting environments.
