Job Description

The Reporting and Analytics Team is a crucial part of the Data Organization, responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable reporting systems and analytics solutions. This team drives data-informed decision-making by generating actionable insights for both internal and external stakeholders while ensuring the reliability and performance of reporting pipelines and dashboards.

What you’ll be doing
  1. Developing scalable, robust, and automated reporting systems to handle high-volume data needs and power data-driven decision-making.
  2. Creating analytics reports that provide actionable insights and meet diverse business and customer requirements.
  3. Modeling and designing modern data structures in SQL databases, ensuring optimal performance and scalability.
  4. Developing and maintaining dashboards using tools like Looker, Looker Studio, and other BI platforms to visualize high-volume data effectively.
  5. Crafting and optimizing complex SQL queries to handle high-volume data efficiently.
  6. Writing robust, performant, and maintainable code for data processing and analytics.
  7. Collaborating with internal business teams and external stakeholders to define requirements and deliver impactful reporting solutions.
  8. Documenting and maintaining workflows to support the scalability and reliability of reporting and analytics systems.
What we are looking for
  • 5+ years of experience in designing and developing high-volume reporting solutions and analytics pipelines.
  • Master of Business Administration (MBA) preferred, with a focus on Accounting and/or Finance.
  • Accounting or Finance domain experience.
  • Deep understanding of data modeling and working with relational databases.
  • Ability to create highly performant, scalable, and maintainable codebases.
  • Hands-on experience with reporting tools or frameworks (e.g., Tableau, Looker, or custom solutions).
Bonus skills
  • Experience with data visualization best practices to design impactful dashboards.
  • Python for building reporting jobs and data processing.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as GCP or AWS
  • A background in the fin-tech space

  • At Highnote we have built a total rewards philosophy that includes fair, equitable, geo-based compensation that is performance and potential based. Our compensation packages are competitive based on robust market research and are a combination of a cash salary, equity, and benefits. In compliance with the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the annual salary range for applicants is $170,000-230,000.

Please note that positions located in San Francisco are hybrid and include core working days of Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday in office.  We provide flexible work options based on distance from our downtown SF office.
