The Data Conversion Engineer is responsible for converting online banking data for new clients into the Lumin Digital platform, along with performing select technical configurations of the Lumin Digital banking product. This role partners closely with clients and internal teams, providing technical consultation from implementation kickoff through production launch. The Data Conversion Engineer loads, validates, and troubleshoots data received from external vendors, ensuring accuracy, scalability, and successful client launches.

The ideal candidate has a strong technical foundation, excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills, and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively in a client-facing environment.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Map, load, validate, and test data received in various file formats.

  • Meet with clients to iron out any data related issues.

  • Collaborate with development, services, product, and support teams in cross-functional initiatives.

  • Manage and support data conversion efforts for client launches, vendor transitions, and mergers or acquisitions.

  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve data and system issues in a timely manner.

  • Proactively identify risks that may impact project timelines and recommend mitigation strategies.

  • Lead and contribute to continuous improvements in data conversion processes, best practices, and scalability.

  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity throughout the conversion lifecycle.

Position Specifications

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

Experience:

  • 2+ year of experience in ETL (Data extraction, transformation and load)

  • 2+ years of experience in SQL

  • 2+ years of work experience in the Banking or Software industry

  • Strong understanding of relational database concepts

  • Working knowledge of Python is a plus

  • Experience with JIRA or other agile project management tools

  • Strong communication and presentation skills.

  • Team player, flexible, ability to multitask, prioritize, problem solve and work independently.

Travel:

  • Minimal, generally 12 days or less per yeay

  • Independently execute data conversion tasks.

  • Generate and analyze exception reports.

  • Update and manage client-facing tickets.

  • Lead complex data conversion projects.

  • Proactively identify potential risks and provide recommendations to clients.

  • Contribute to and influence organizational best practices and process improvements.
