Who You Are

TabaPay is looking for an experienced and proactive Data Engineer to join the team. We are looking for someone who can take initiative and operate independently all while taking pride in keeping our systems stable and trusted. If you are a data engineer who builds durable data systems with long-term scalability in mind, we want to hear from you.  

  • Focus on solving problems using the simplest possible architecture. 
  • self-direct within a broad definition of goals and objectives.  
  • Prioritize the availability of accurate and reliable data. 
  • Develop processes and monitor the health of the data warehouse. 
  • Collaborate with technical and business teams to understand their needs and build solutions. 

Responsibilities 

  • Develop and manage scalable and reliable ETL/ELT processes for loading data into data warehouses. 
  • Monitor performance and troubleshoot issues. 
  • Manage and optimize our data warehouse for performance and reliability. 
  • Maintain data integrity and consistency across systems. 
  • Collaborate with internal teams to understand data needs and deliver solutions. 
  • Stay current with industry trends and technologies in data engineering. 
  • Continuously improve data processes and infrastructure for efficiency and scalability. 
  • Document data engineering processes, designs, and architectures. 

Qualifications 

  • Fast learner with strong work ethics and high-performance standards. 
  • Solve today’s problems and lay the foundation for the future. 
  • 4 years of experience in a fintech company or fast-growing startup. 
  • BS or advanced degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. 
  • Proficient in writing production-quality code in Python. Go would be a plus. 
  • Strong debugging skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve issues effectively. 
  • Experience working with AWS. 

This role is located in Palo Alto, California - 5x a week in office.  

The pay range for this position is $130,000; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
